ISR for 2.7?

Has anyone done this and if so any gains? There are a lot of 3.4 'tuning' tips, but not many for the puny 4 cyl. Any thoughts?

puny 4cyl? you got a bigger engine than my 2.4. ...then again my 2.4 has around 300,000 miles and never broken down on me... ill trade power for reliability.

na, i guess stated that wrong. i was meaning why be unhappy with a slow engine when it will last you at least 300,000 miles? ...then again i prefer toyotas before they were made in america... tho that will be forgotten once i buy my FJ when i get a good job

Bdog; it doesnt look like there is even much aftermarket support for the ISR and the 2.7 like the 3.4 (truflow, airraid). However K&N does have its typical intake system. I found a few links that deal with the 2.7 and intake mods..hope it helps

ozziemanoffroad: couldnt tell by your post on what you meant, but the FJ is made in Japan

Thanks for the links Godzilla, at least a good direction.
Still not much out there for modded factory stuff, soo I guess I'll have to become crafty.

Search on here for the deckplate mod, i wasn't thinking that night.
my bad.

I tried lookin for maybe a camshaft but couldn't find anything.

Wouldn't mind that turbo setup on mine though.
Look around on the lce site there was i think an upgraded fuel system and a couple other things that could prolly gain you some pretty ponies.
But at the price of some pretty pennies

deckplate

The deckplate seems relatively straight forward, it's the ISR that is more intreging. But, I have taken the intake apart and found that it's the same size as the V6 inlet pipe, so I should be able to get a muffler shop to enlarge a 2.5 inch pipe and viola! And if I dump the oops water bowl inline retention doodad there will be room to run a Tacozilla style snorkel through the hood. I love the cheap mods!!!! One day I will actually have to focus more on my suspenders. Thanks for the replies.
