Does an SC increase the value of the truck
Would an SC increase the value of this truck if I go to sell it or trade it in.
I wonder cause I saw a 3rd Gen with an SC at the dealer and the sticker was 37k compared to other non SC 3RD Gen SR5 with stickers at 32k, that and all the guys in here with SC on their 3rd gens, it has to increase the value

My feeling is that it would drastically decrease the value of the vehicle. Anytime you add some major AFTERMARKET device to a vehicle it will decrease its value.

Well let's face it, a dealer will attempt to charge whatever the market will bear until the vehicle is still in stock over 90-120 days.
Although not technically aftermarket, the TRD kit would still decrease market value because most buyers would think that the vehicle service life is less than stock. Unless you're lucky enough to find a buyer interested in your specific mechanical mods, it's nearly impossible to recover even a small portion of your costs. The only exceptions that come to mind are certain styles of wheels appropriate for the vehicle, and some electronics like audio/navi. Once again, my 2¢ from buying/selling new and used vehicles for...a looong time.

Depends on who you ask. At a dealer if doing a trade it probably wouldn't make much differance. Many people that have a s/c that are trading remove it and sell the s/c privately since they don't give more on a trade.
On a private sale you can get more. I have customized every vehicle I have owned since 16(I'm now 39) and have never lost on any of them when selling. I don't believe in trading in since they rip you off and give you the lowest price possible.
On the private market, you run across people that are glad to have something already fixed up/customized. That's of course if it's done right and not over-the-top. Same goes with my current Toy. I know when I sell, I'll leave everything on it and still come out ahead. It all depends on the mods and the market. If you have a product of great desire then you can't lose. Granted, I spend some $$$ on my vehicles. But, I also keep them for awhile and get alot of enjoyment out of those $$$. I had my Porsche for 9 1/2 years and ended up selling for $300 less than I payed. I still don't consider that a loss.
So bottom line...a trade wouldn't do a thing for value. Sell it yourself and you "may" get alittle more but don't expect a couple grand extra.
Just some of my thoughts...

I salvage everything I can, even the floormats, before I trade. The dealer gives you a blue book value on the market value of the truck. All emotion is removed, so what is valuable to you, might not be valuable to the dealer. As mentioned above, the dealer will 'mark up' a vehicle to see if someone will buy it on emotion within the first 60-120 days, after that it goes wholesale and the wholesale market definately does not add aftermarket products as value.

When the time comes I'll probably look into a private party to sell it, my last vehicle a 2000LE Pathfinder I was not even tryin to sell and guy where making offers on it so this being a Toyota with the V8 should not be hard to get rid of in a few years, especially since it will look like new

dealerships are interested for the most part in buying cars that they can turn around and sell quickly, they dont want anything thats gonna sit on thier lot and collect dust b/c its for a specialty market. id imagine b/c the super charger is such a pricey upgrade it would always increase the value of the car, the only reason a dealership would try to bargain for less is that they would have to hold it longer to sell.

Trade Ins
Here at our dealership we remove them before we resale them. Most of the time you never know how the vehicle has been maintained. However, you can generally bet that if it has an SC on it then it was driven hard. Thus, decreasing the value of the truck. Paul is right, the only way to get your money's worth out of that is on a private market only.
