88 3vze pickup starts then dies

Truck has out smarted me. It stars when cold then runs perfect for a while and then dies and starts to chug. Sometimes starts after and runs like ˟˟˟˟ sometimes doesn't restart. Ect has been replaced, fuel filter and pressure regulator have also been replaced. All new ignition components plugs wires cap rotor and msd coil. has spark and has fuel pressure at the regulator. I'm stuck and I need help.

The "classic" starts-then-dies is a problem in the COR-VAF system (though usually it starts fine, runs for just a few seconds, then dies from fuel starvation).

Fortunately, as complex as the problem might be, it is the easiest thing on the truck to diagnose. Jumper B+ to FP on the diagnostic connector (this forces the fuel pump to run with key-on). If the problem goes away, you found where it is.

Don't just drive around with the jumper in, as tempting as that might be. If you get in an accident that breaks a fuel line, you really want that pump to shut off pronto.

Pump is already in a toggle... So it doesn't shut off... I think I had the problem you are speaking of but it takes like 20 minutes to a half hour to shut off not a few seconds

Uh, do you really want to end up like your "name sake"? It's your life, but I suggest you give it some thought.

Is was a last minute thing just to get it going. That's not the goal here. I make bad life decisions I don't care I just need to get my truck running

Red face

Have you narrowed things down to it being a fuel or electrical problem??

Have you tested fuel pressure when it dies on you?? Just what brand fuel pump There is a bunch of poor quality ones out there.

You replaced all the ignition parts new igniter as well Sure sounds like something is getting hot after 20 minutes

Electrical system in good shape a under voltage system will shut down.

Engine will always start when things are cold??

I still have spark and I still have fuel pressure at the regulator. Fuel pump is original as far as I know. I never replaced it. But it does work. Ignitor was not replaced. I'm leaning twords injectors so I started replacing them yesterday. Pulled a set out of the yard and we'll see how they go back together. Worst case it's coming out and getting a swap.

But yes it always starts when cold. And the voltage isn't going down. It holds 14.5 the whole time.

Just what does the fuel pressure read in pounds per square inch.

If it drops off the injectors will not open.
