Deckplate and ISR mod's
I did a search on the deckplate and ISR mods, and after reading, I understand that the ISR mod will make my 4runner louder, but I didn't see anyone mention whether the deckplate mod would make my truck louder. I like the current quiet sound, but would also like to do the deckplate mod if it'll increase power a little bit while not getting too loud.
Can anyone tell me if it'll make my 2.7L loud or not?

Somebody who's done the deckplate mod should be able to tell me if it will make my truck sound louder or not...
I guess I'll just have to do it and if it does, then just put the cap on...

yes the deckplate will make it louder. The isr isn't really loud until you get around 2500 rpm. Both are really worth it and I highly reccomend it. And yes, if you don't like it, you coudl always cap the deckplate and put the intake silencer back in. Worth a shot.

That's a good idea!
The ISR mod is totally reversable too.
Go for the ISR mod and leave the flip top open, then try it w/o the mod.
I find that with both mods in place, I don't hear anything out of the ordinary except when I'm really accelerating out of a red light or if I need to pass someone. Normal driving won't wake up the beast
At least that's what I've found.

with deckplate mod, it gets louder when it sucks in more air meaning if your trottle is opened up and you're engine RPM is below 2500 it you will hear the roar while engine is working its way up. i dont know if that makes enough sense but usually with normal driving you hardly notice the difference if any

2.7L deckplate mod noise
I have done the deckplate mod on my 2.7L, and I don't think it has made it much louder. At higher rpms, maybe a bit. If anything, it has made it quieter at freeway speeds when I am on cruise control. I think when it is idling and I am outside the vehicle I can hear more of a sucking-air intake sound, which is actually kind of cool. I think this will link you to my thread on it. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...threadid=12624
I say then that I could hear a difference right away, but I think it really wasn't much. I wouldn't worry about it making the engine noise too loud.
