I am, hopefully, gonna be acquiring an 87 4Runner here next week or so. It is just the body and frame. Which leaves me for a completely open build.

As of right now the plan is to put a EB running gear in it. 302, c4 auto, Dana 30 3 or 4 link, HP 9" rear with 4 link. Its a project that I have wanted to try for a while, especially since we have all of the parts jus sittin here at the house. We have enough Bronco stuff to build 4 or 5 complete trucks

shoot, with the 302, you could go propane and not have to worry about flooding your carb

it's fairly cheap and easy to do, too. i have a bunch of links if you want, and you still have the option of running both gas and propane, or just propane

call these guys up, as they are helpful and know their stuff
http://store03.prostores.com/servlet...ITS/Categories

very well built kits, haven't dealt with them, but they have a good reputation
http://www.gotpropane.com/p4.html
(scroll down to see the "dual fuel" kit)

you'll need to put in a kill switch to turn off the fuel if you stall. (just an oil pressure switch)
http://www.summitracing.com/search/D...s/?Ns=Rank|Asc

and look around for a tank. these kits are designed for forklift tanks, but you can also mount a small(er) home tank. if you do some searching, you'll find some more info
