Got some talk time in with the machinist today. The first block that I took them needed a line honing and I couldnt afford that. So I took them the block that I pulled out of the truck and he said that one would work better. Looks like sometime next week

Yeeeehawwwwwwww! Awesome, man! GOOD CHOICE, BTW!

You going with any specific bearings, rings, etc.? I THINK I posted a bit of info on that in my build...not sure how much, lol. I'm usually thorough though, right? lol.

Hope you're well, bud!

You are definitly thorough with your posts. I often look back to read them over to see stuff that I mighta missed.
Im gonna use the Clevite 77s for bearings. They are the only bearings we ever use.

I am doin good. Tryin to get thru the withdrawls from the lack of driving me truck lmao

How was your trip to AZ?

I can't wait either Chef! I am pretty darn excited!

What color yall think I should paint the block when I get it back? My buddy and I thought Caterpillar yellow. I want it to be unique.

YES< it's the purplish color! lol. I know, I know...but for some reason, I still like it... but that was in fun, cuz I do see that color on a Nissan Maxima or something on occasion.... and I wanna vomit! lol. Maybe on a Super Bee, something like that, ya know? But a newer car? lol. Anyway, maybe it wouldn't be too bad on the engine,...and it sure would be original against 'red' engine bay, etc., right?

I am gonna try to convert it to my front grill yes lol. I think it would be legit haha. If I am not able to do it I will make it a wall hanger rigged up with lights that I can turn on and off.

can't wait to see it done

a note on fixing that busted side: mix acetone and abs shavings to make a sort of droopy putty. then "mold" it into place, and sand it down to look good (once dry). should work fairly well

Awesome thanks for the tip. I don't think it will be that hard to do. It is narrower than the original grill, so I might try to cut and fit the headlight bezels to the FJ grill and make some sort of custom trun signal.

You've seen it, but here's how it looks with Ford Red(closest I could find to Toyota Orig. "Super Red 1" .....

I'd not been on Yotatech long enough to know "this is totally original"... but I'd not seen it like I had it. Now, my block is silver...

I kept it all same up top.... with the red accents... I like it, and it's easy to find leaks on(GOD FORBID!!! Shhhhhhh! ) lol.

Anyway, can't WAIT to see that grill in there, VERY original...never seen that, ever! BTW, did you snake that off Corey's rig while he slept up on top of it? hehehe.

I actually really like that red in there. Looks good. I had forgotten it lol. The silver looks good too.
Snakin the grill off of Corey's rig would be a kick arse story to tell but, unfortunately, its not my story haha. My buddy found it while he was flyin down the hiway.

Wow, "Hey, dude, PULL OVER!" , .... Why?, .... "Cuz that grill's gonna be put to use, hurry up before he turns back to get it!" hahaha.

Thanks, btw... on the red. I REALLY liked it.. but to be honest, after all I'd been through with that thing? I just COULD NOT make it the same color.... I KNOW, I'm weird... but I think I'd earned it at this point! lol. I like the silver as well. it's REALLY easy to see and reflects light well while I'm shining up in there!

I picked them up today. Everything looks good good. They painted the block black, I think to keep it from rustin. I think I am going to leave it after spending all of my money. It took all I had lmao. I even had to cash in my "locker fund" coffee can of change. Left me with about $100

Also, I have decided to not go the route of SAS on this truck just yet. After seeing what IFS trucks could do out at the Jambo, I thought that I might wanna play with it for a little while. SAS is still in the future but not yet. I am going to pick up that 4 in lift that my firends dad has and throw it on there.
