Then it wouldn't be as cool to see others doing it. The jeep guy we met said he saw 2 toys flip over backwards trying that line. We were 2 for 2 getting them over and not flopping.

I'm guessing the others weren't geared and had much heavier right feet. . .

That's my guess too. I will admit i had a strap hooked up in case it started to go over but never needed it.

Thanks for going nuts with the detail for those of us who are scared to really tear into anything to deep. Great pics.

Thanks for noticing! Its paying off so far.

So i ran wheeler lake yesterday for the first time. The truck did amazing to say the least. I ran all the hard lines and it didnt hiccup once. Just walked up whatever i threw it at so i'm pleased with it as it is now. Leafs are still untouched and im going to leave em. Front locker not needed yet as much as it would be nice...

First glitch happened on the way home. My hid ballast crapped out the other day so i was driving around with one headlight. I thought id beat the dark home but we didnt and coming down I70 i had both lights on and about a minute in to turning them on i got...Flash flash darkness. The other one died too..5 year old hids so i cant whine. We pulled over and wired my fogs up to the headlights and i got home fine.

I have made up my mind and im parking the truck for a while. Im going to replace the HID's and the one headlight that cracked with different stuff and finish the hid fogs. Im also putting the rest of the interior in and the IFS hubs on. I picked up new V6 calipers, the 85 landcrusier rotors, new pads and studs. i have new bearings so i can finish that all up.

Went to the parts store today and picked up some bulbs for a few little parts im going to throw in. More factory option type parts for the interior. The ring that goes around the ignition, the amber color matched bulb paint for the heater control to match the TRD lighting in the cluster. Amber power outlet rings from an audi i grabbed years ago...I also dug out wiring for rockdoors so i can add speakers to them and just unplug the whole harness when i swap them. I know i know..All stupid small stuff but i wanna keep busy and not take the truck off the road for too long in case i get a chance to wheel again before it snows.

Pics coming...Some from yesterday can be found here.

Nice rig for sure! About the rear tire carrier, I plan on making a swing-down for my 4Runner this winter. I'm going to copy the GenRight carrier for the Wranglers. I plan on taking it off went I wheel the tough trails (Penrose, BV Carnage) but having it if I drive to the trails. I'll keep ya posted on how that project pans out.

Thanks, I dont think i will ever be running any of those trails with this rig. I have thought about making it removable for wheeling just cause the bobbed bed gives me a great departure angle and a tire carrier is going to put me close to how it was a longbed...Not as bad but close. I looked in to a site i was told about on moody crystal called jeeptubes.com and they sell a pre bent set up that is cheap. I may wind up with something like that.

It would be easy to make removeable. I plan on using 2 tractor hitch pins on the top through some bushings. The bottom will be 2 bolts with some tabs welded to the back of the tubework. Pull the 2 pins and swing it down. Then take some wrenches to the bolts and it would be dropped in a minute.

Here's the hitch pins I bought

Those jeeptubes.com look like a good start.

Those pins look good. I think im going to do bolts in the bottom and trailer hitch locks on the top. The idea is when the false floor is finished the lock will be under it so if the tire carrier cant come down the tailgate cant either so the tools and supplys are safe. I wanted a swing away one but My girl rocks the truck from time to time and even as ripped as she is the tire weighs almost as much as she does....I get lazy too so i dont want to wrestle a tire around in the air to line up lugs.

Tear down starts NOW!

I just took a chunk out of my thumb so its a good time to start making notes here. I picked up an electric fan thats about the same size as the shroud for a 22r radiator. I picked up a 2 speed relay for A/C so i wont need my pusher fans in the grill. I just pulled all the old fan clutch off and got the pulley mounted back up(i need to replace my belts)

Got the fan shroud modded to run the wires through for the relay. Im thinking i will mount the relay on the support next to my old HID relay set up so no more holes will be needed.

I had some time to kill while my girl was at her study so what do i do? Go spend money!! Got some new gear for Hawaii and Hair cut and had more time to kill so i stopped by a buddy parts store and went a little over board.

-Fan and relay
-Lucas and fluids for the truck
-K&N intake for the FJ
-Header wrap for the crossover pipe and cat area cause it gets kinda hot and i dont like it.
-and some bushings for my maxima.
-new rotors, new V6 calipers, pads, bearings for the IFS hub swap...just cant do the used parts thing
-water wetter for the coolant and new coolant
some bulbs for the options im putting in like the stupid ignition light up ring and the new door lights i have for the door pannels
-recharge kit for her intake and mine.

will post pics once i get this in and wired and report on how it works out. If anyone needs that fan and clutch LMK
