Ok so everything is in and ready to be wired up but i call on some of you wiring diagram freaks for some help here.

Looking for 2 wires in the bay of a 2000 tacoma 4wd 2.7

I need the A/C clutch wire but im looking to keep this all clean so if i can get to it with out running a single wire over to the motor just to hit that wire at the compressor id love it.

The other is a 12v switched wire(cant be less or change when key on) in the bay. Remember im going clean with the wiring so if i can hit it somewhere in a harness thats already tucked in that would be great...just looking for ideas before i go back and finish it up tomorrow.

So I have wanted to get the interior done for a while and figgured the easy way to do it would be grab a roof off a parts truck to fiberglass the hard board headliner from the taco to fit my rig and then wrap it and put it in my rig. So today i went and picked up a roof section cut at roughly dash level. this will make doing the A and B piller trim easier. So i flipped the roof over in the garage after cleaning up my mess and started looking at it. I wont dive in to it for a day or so but i need a plan.....

So heres the list of options that COULD go in the headliner. I have all of them and want them in the truck but they can go other places if needed.
Back up camera screen- Homelink(garage door opener buttons)-Map lights and dome light- Radar detector(still don't know if i even care about this anymore)

AH crap!!! I just though of something....I need to get a 4runner style one to mount on the rear of the cab too! If its really dark 2 would be helpful digging for stuff on trail or trying to find my phone on my late night adventures.....Going to give this some thought. The other option is just doing LED's in the front one and map lights....ya know i think that will work out ok cause my plate lights shine on the ground in a pretty big area and stock ones really don't. Answered my own question here...plus 2 may be tacky.

Ok SOOOOO heres my thought. I have the mirror on the glass now. Its the auto dimming mirror i talked about earlier(still need to hook it up but have no wiring diagrams 00 acura TL for those helpful people with connections. ) Im going to take a stock dome light from the tacoma(it fits with no mods IIRC) and just un screw the mirror part and fab a cover for the screw. The stock 80's map lights should still bolt to that. I was planning on molding the back up camera screen where the light was but wasn't thinking about the lights. Ok so back to the drawing board with mounting that....I think the home link will be best fit in the center of the headliner behind the map lights(thinking glass as the forward most part) and that way it saves a mess trying to make it work in a visor.

I could mount the screen under the light aginst the windshield BUT windshield replacement will be a PITA and i like my glass guy and am due next summer i assume(damn you CO rocks!!) I could also make a pod in the piller with it or on the dash like a tippy meter or even with one...Ok its getting cluttered on the dash. Piller would be the best i think. the dash is already kinda full with My stereo and EQ in the dins...My CB is going to wind up in the console or under an already cramped seat(I had to love music *Facepalm*)

So any input is always helpful...What do you guys think? Looking back on all the stuff im putting in to the truck im starting to feel like a ricer but its all useful. The back up camera is going to be helpful on trail and at home cause the neighbors have 6 kids and everyone else has 2-4. I will have a tire carrier before summer so with the topper sides down and a 37 in the back window i wont be able to see shhhhh.

Been snapping pics as i kinda mock it up so when its not 4am i will post them...I just couldnt sleep and wanted this out of my head....yeah right that never works.

Awesome build man! How are you liking the Trail-Gear springs flex wise? Also, I'm currently running 35's with trimmed fenders and minimal lift. Do you think it would be beneficial to buy and run the 4'' springs f/r ? Here's a link to a picture of my rig how it currently sits

So i tucked all the wires out of sight. The addicted bumper fits the XRC8 winch perfect. I was originally going to hide the box in the bay(more coming on that later) but rather then take apart all the wiring and make it work now i just wanted it on and going. I have no clue when i will get to the door panels for the future mod but for now i want it to work....If we ever get snow i may need it.

The only mod i had to do to the bumper to fit everything was to open up the fairlead holes slightly to fit the bolts. Other then that it was easy, No grill cutting or modding. I plan on getting a different line and fairlead at some point but for now this will work. I cant bitch at all it was an early Xmas present from the GF and her family.

The ride up front is softer now and once the rear armor is on then i'm thinking that will get softer too. I looked in to pulling all the grease out like some do but honestly i dont see why people whine about pulling the line out. I had no issues rolling it out by turning the drum and every one i have seen has been pretty smooth and easy.

Next up Tires, Rear armor, Hubs and brakes....Yes still slacking on that. I had everything apart to put the stock birfs back in and didnt feel like messing with it....someday i will get the interior done..For now i just dont roll down windows with the doors closed, Mainly cause i CAN'T!

Happy Holidays guys!!!

Lots of Vortex guys on here! I have found most VW owners like the Toyota trucks. I recently picked up my old mk2 gti to rebuild...Who knows when i will get to it but i have it here taking up space.

I'm kinda sad i haven't got to use the winch on anything...We had our first snow a few days ago and haven't seen anyone stuck and haven't gone up wheeling yet.

Well it happened...I should have kept my mouth shut.

I got a call from the guy with the junk yard i helped out for a while and hes shutting his doors. I toldhim i was going to come dig and grab one of the trannys he had as a spare. Mines had bearing noise this round. I thought i got a poor rebuild. Well the other night when it was like -20 here it started clicking in 5th. Then pulling in to the gym 1st clicked. well after a long night of lifting and a long time of warming up 1-2-3-5th clicked so i stopped at the gas station to grab a drink and reverse clicked leaving. 1st went from a click to a clunk and a hop. I drove home in 4th. got it to the garage and its now clicking at idle when the clutch is out. After much reading i have found that i have some bearings out that turned to possible chipped teeth.

So no biggie i picked up a tranny from that guy and cleaned it up..I will rock it for a while while i build one.

Work has been hella slow so i spent some time on my V6 calipers the other day. I have IFS hubs to throw on too. heres some pics.

The calipers are super white like the last set with brushed look fins. the edges around the brushed look is nimbus gray.

And a pic from the last time i took her out to play in the snow..Yes i washed her before putting her away..im weird.

Got to take over Ben! Im hitting that and the jambo. Picked up a front locker and will have it geared, shafts and rear bumper for both with any luck. Text me if you need details on either run.

I just spent right at 3 hours taking notes on, and reading all 13 pages of this build. You have one of the most meticulosly restored trail rigs i've ever seen. Bravo. I am now inspired and armed with knowledge for my own build that is about to get underway.

When are we wheeling again dude?

So, I picked up some other stuff for the truck. Besides building the front axle I grabbed Hydro Assist, had the windows tinted and am still slowly working on the rear bumper.

To make it easier to work on during the winter and not have to get it back together in a huge rush i picked up an 88 xtra cab. The truck is almost rust free and has some body damage to the passenger front. Im building another cab for it cause the one on it had some A piller damage i dont care to work out. The downs side is its a 3.0 auto. For the price and amount of rust i couldnt pass it up. Interior is mint other then the armrest witch is an easy fix and some cleaning to the rest of the interior.

Im planning on painting it white cause i have a gallon of paint a buddy hooked me up with, Leaving the Blue interior and adding the factory sr5 graphics back on in the blue color i think it will look pretty sweet. This is more of a restore then a build tho. This truck is getting 31/10.5/15's i grabbed some baja claws off craigslist and if they are too loud i will just sell em and get some dyna pros like we put on the fj. I may crak on the t-bar a bit and put a longer shackle on it but we will see how it all looks together. I have some mint chrome SR5 wheels for it and a matching spare. Going to add a tippy gauge, some rubber mats, hid's cause i just cant drive with out em anymore and maybe some bolt on bumpers. It has LSD in the rear and i thought that was crazy so maybe i add one in the front?

The plan for the 88 is a daily that i can take up on the easy trails or to camp and can have fun on a trail. Taking the 87 out not using lockers the easy trails are almost boring now. The 87 just does everything i want it to and more.

I will get some pics up when i have a chance to sit down at home. Work blocks out my facebook where my girl has uploaded all her pics she took from takeover/CO4RJ?girls gone wheeling...Yes i let her wheel it and i made her run the hardest lines available. I will have to start a new thread for the 88 tho...Its going to be in depth i have a feeling.
