Nice find on the rims. Trim looks better. Your truck is coming along nicely. Hope the 81 works out for, especially for the price on it. Parts are harder to find for them, but you will probably have a more solid body being in California.

Things are coming along. I did put clear coat on my l trims for a little more protection, and it gave it a little more brightness. Yours looks great as it is.

thanks terry

so it poured a week ago and is back to 60deg sun shine.
but it rained som much tht their was some mud:

decide tht i wanted the center consol out of the scav so i had to move my rear window switch
here you can see all the wires:

i then taped all the wires together except the rear window, then ran them along the door jam to where the kicker panel is. all the plugs not used (rear window lock, rear window wiper, and seat belt) are stashed up in the body next to the fuse block. i then cut and extended the rear window wires, and ran the switch to here:

pay no attention to the stack of gas receipts, those r every single time i put gas in the truck along with the miles on the gauge and the gas milage

so here is the center consol, had to modify it and make some L brakets to mount it:

and since ive been in the painging mood i decided to paint the door handles:

i am now working on the vents.

That is alot more useful then the factory console. Think I will look into something like that when I get to that point. Glad to see you making some progress.

There seems like you always have to have at least one set back every once in awhile. Been there myself a few times.

no i havent fixed it, ive grown used to it, the truck needs a once over, i have a very small leak from my timing cover, also think i may be burning just a very minimal amount of oil, going through a qt every 3000mi, but isnt bad since i try to do a oil service every 3000. also think my IAC valve is bad, need to remove it and test it.

i want to just build another engine tht way i will always have a spare, mybe with this tax return.

also wanted to note tht with the new tires mpg went from 18 down to 15, should regear but im waiting since ill be putting bigger tires on sooner or later after the SAS.

installed my 2in body lift yesterday, onw thing to say follow the instructions. it will save you alot of time.

also i had a major intake leak, the lower intake gasket broke and was causing a huge air leak, got tht fixed today and it runs so much better then before.

so i havent been on very much, but i have been working on not only the berry but the scav also

so to update, i cut the ifs off the berry and mocked the axle up, waiting for a couple more parts from wab fab and a good dry weekend and i should have the front end done.

i have been driving the scav since the sat tht just passed and it makes the berry look like a luxary truck haha.
-just replaced the clutch and clutch master
-still have a lack of power but it might be the timing i have not checked yet
-the high beams dont work, when you turn tthe high beams the lights just turn off which sounds like their is an open circuit or my switch is bad, i have another switch i just have to find it
-my wiper switch broke a very long time ago and to get me by a cut the wire and hooked the fast wipers up to a toggle and the wiper washer to another toggle, but now after driving the berry, i see how much i like having all the wiper options. but once again i have another wiper switch just have to find it
-my cig lighter broke, but im in the process of installing a new one
-my driver door lock would not lock or unlock with my key, so i switced it with thre pass side so i wouldnt haqve to keep crawling through the pass side in the morning. i think it just needs to be lubed up and loosend but will wait till it stops raining to worry about tht,
-my driver headlight short circuited when my radiator wasnt sealing so i got a free pair of 80's chevy lights tht will work, so i put one in to get me street legal but the buckets are differant so i will have to switch the buckets to keep my light from bouncing around.
-had to install my old gauge cluster because the only things to work in the sr5 cluster was the tach and volts. so im on the search for a new cluster
-my door panels are falling apart, im thinking about making some metal ones later
-i now have no center consol since i put it in the berry, so im thinking of getting one like the last one and installing it
-and last for now is the seats, right now i have some mid 70's bucket seats out of an international scout tht only slide forward and back, they do not lean and stop at your lower shoulder blades, def need better ones.

so i have a lot ahead of me.

got some work done on the scav.

it was barely misting during my lunch so i decide to get some things done:
-took the chevy light out of the bucket and put it in my yota bucket
- lubed up the window seals and the crank for the driver window, opens and closes nice and easy now
-lubed the window seal for the tailgate window, works much better also
and
-lubed up the lock and rods for the driver door turns a lot smoother

and to top my day off i just bought a duke 3500lbs winch tht has never been used befor the steel cabel is still in its original plastic wrap it also came with a controller but the controller doesnt wor with it, so i took a wire and jumped the terminals and it reels in an out. now for the best part i got it on clist for a grand total of..............

.....................$90.00 , im so stoked right now

i bought some generic ultra white headlights and installed them on scav and they are nice.
well when i replaced the clutch master i actually took the one off the berry to get me by in a quicky. so i ordered a new one for the berry and installed it and bleed the system. also removed the radiator so tht i can jb weld the brakets back on the radiator.
