I was for the Seahawks. I watched most of the game and have the rest on DVR. They were great offensively and defensively. I was let down by the commercials this year. Since Budwieser got bought out, they only had one that I seen and usually had some great ones. I did see a tax site had a great one that surprised me.

Sorry Terry for the late reply, yeah I heard that the commercials weren't that great this year, I miss the old Bud Bowl commercials, they were always entertaining!
Got the tax return, so I get to do a few things on the rigs. On my 83' pickup I'm going to finish up the de-smogging of the 22R, I ordered a LCE performance spiral bore carb adapter to use with my 2 barrel Carb, also getting a fuel pressure regulator, and gauge. On the 4 runner I'm finally replacing the cracked passenger side exhaust manifold, I'm also trying to find some tan/light brown canvas duck material similar to what Carharrt work pants are made of, going to attempt some reupholstery work.

found a couple canvas fabrics I like. Since my interior is dark brown and tan those are the colors I'm going with. Here's a pic of one canvas fabric I found (sorry about the huge pic)

Then I found this Real Tree camo canvas fabric. I was thinking of using the camo for the center insert and the brown on the outer sides. What do you guys think? Or should I just use all camo, or just all brown?

We get screwed out of the awesome commercials in Canada. We get our stupid non insane budget versions.
At least we can see titties and swear on our TV though. Gotta love that French influence.

^^^ I got a kick out of that. That was funny.
I always have liked the tan interiors myself. A friend of mine got his truck painted all camo and my brother is wanting to do a lot of camo on his truck so it will probably be 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
I am hoping taxes treat me good this year but seems like every year it is getting less and less. Soon will be filling out the 10 EZier form. "What did you make? Send it in"

Just thought I'd give my thread a bump for my #1000 post, woot woot!!! lol, other than that not much to update. I did get my canvass fabric in that I ordered. I'm real happy with it, the brownish tan color and texture is exactly like a brand new pair of Carrharts, which is the look I was hoping to achieve. I also got my book on custom auto upholstery, it should be very helpful, I just need to get some heavy duty UV protected thread, and some hog ring pliers and I can get started with my first attempt at auto upholstery!

Wahoo!!! 1000, They roll up quick on you.
I am wanting to take some old seats and separate the stitches and use them for a pattern. I think if you have a pattern to go with, it would just take a little practice. Hoping to try that soon. I have seen it on TV a lot and they make it look fairly easy.

Great news on the colour and description. I have a mental image of exactly what it will look like.
Sewing isn't too hard. I used to be awesome at it in high school. Made my then girlfriend all kinds of cool stuff. Enough that the sewing girls got the wrong idea and I learnt lots about girls in that class until they saw me kissing my girlfriend. Apparently no straight boy in the 90's should be able to rock a sewing machine.

ΔΔΔ that cracked me up!!! Yeah I just need to figure out how to thread the machine now, my mother in law gave it to my wife, and she has never used it,I found a couple sites that might be helpful. Once I learn how to rock the sewing machine, then I can teach her how to sew, lol.

Thanks man, oh yeah I need to get one of those too, I'm always forgetting something!
Well for awhile now I've had a small oil leak. I have a remote mounted oil filter on my engine because of the clearance issues with the steering shaft. Well one of the remote oil lines running to the filter was leaking from where the hose was crimped to the fitting. So I'd check and have to add oil every couple weeks. So I was due for an oil change and after doing some research I found a shorter oil filter for the 302 that would clear the steering shaft. So after removing the remote filter setup I ran into a snag, my NWOR (Northwest Off road) motor mounts were interfering with the filter preventing it from threading on! So about the only thing I could do was cut and remove some of the end of the motor mount, I hated to do it, but I wanted to eliminate the remote filter setup.
^^^ I used a bottle jack between the top of the axel and the upper part of the motor mount (that has the bushings in it) to keep the engine from lowering down on that side, and was able to remove the lower part of the mount that needed trimmed back.
^^^I have about a 1/4" of clearance now between the oil filter and the engine mount.
^^^finally got rid of this monstrosity, one less place to leak! This spring I'm going to have pressure wash my engine, my electric fans blew oil all over the place.

Hi Ed,
I'm having some issues with my 302 swap… It's going into a 1986 Toyota Pickup. How do you have your distributor and coil wired? Is it the stock toyota coil or is an after market ford coil? What kind of distributor do you have? I have a coil from a 5.0 liter H.O. motor. I'm positive I made an absolute disaster of the wiring. The distributor is a pertronix flamethrower distributor (by Billet I believe). Any information/photos you can give me would be very helpful and much appreciated!
Also, I'm sorry if you have covered this in a previous post. I searched for it, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks!
Tim

I wish I had more info on my motor ( build specs and components used) but since I just bought a donor truck (85' Toyota pickup) that already had the 302 in it, and the PO didn't have very much info for me I'm kinda at a loss.
I do know I have an electronic distributor, it doesn't have points, but I don't know what brand it is. Pretty sure its a ford coil, not a Toyota one.
On the wiring, on the distributor there is a black wire and a red one. On my coil one side is marked "DIST" and one side is marked "BAT"..... the black wire coming from the distributor goes to the screw on the coil marked DIST and the red wire coming from the distributor goes to the screw on the coil marked "BAT"

There's one other wire from the battery side of the coil to hook up and your done. The red wire coming off the battery side of the coil and running up towards the valve cover ( in the pic above) it goes to the plug on the driver side fender well in the next 2 pics.( green wire) the reason it changes from a red wire to a green wire is because I ran it into the cab and hid a kill switch, I thought changing the color might help confuse a would be the thief, but now since I moved out of the city and way out in the country, I don't even use the kill switch anymore.

I hope this helps, I was kind of in a hurry, I got to go to work, but if you have any more questions or need more pics let me know!
Ed.

Hey Tim, I'll get some pics posted up shortly, my cell phone is to dead to take any pics right now, but I'll try to answer your questions.

Just one thing: where does the one other wire (heading towards the valve cover to the green connector) go? Does it connect to the key? Is that the same connector used in the original Toyota wiring? No pictures needed since you have a hidden kill switch...
Thanks!

Ed, this is really helpful info. I tried with the original Toyota coil with no luck. I tried again with a newer Ford coil (off a 90's Mustang I think) but I had it wired wrong. Work and school is killing me right now so I will have to wait until later this week or next week to try it.

Thanks! I need to get on it, I have it almost done, just need to finish up some welds and grind everything down smooth. I got the lock cylinder and hinge for it. I still haven't decided if I'm going to paint it, or cover it with vinyl, what do you guys think, I'm open to suggestions!
