Hey Mark! No worries, I know you weren't trying to bad mouth Optima's, and even if you were I wouldn't take offense, lol. I respect your opinion, and I know you do a lot of research before buying products and I appreciate you mentioning the different brands in your post so that others reading might be aware of different options that they might not have considered before. My situation is I usually I don't have the cash on hand to buy something like that, and since I've been DD my 4runner for several months now I needed to get a battery the same day and get back on the road, so my options were kinda limited to what Les Schwab carries, but it's all good, I'm happy with the Optima so far, lol.

This is taken from Federal's website:http://4wheelonline.com/federal-cour...222565.1486936

•Large aggressive shoulder lugs. Strong protection block on upper shoulder for exceptional bruise, impact, cut resistance and protection from other off-road hazards.
•Uniquely designed incremental block edge improves clearance of dirt and sand for constant performance.
•Uniquely designed radius of sub-grooves enhances off-road performance.
•SRG(Sloped Radius Gradient) block design increases block stiffness, enhances performance, and delivers serious off-road traction.
•Bar at bottom of groove clears mud and rock particles and provide ultimate off-road traction.
•Deep shoulder lugs and sophisticated central blocks fulfill the most demanding requirements of off-road grip and steering control when used for on-road applications.
•Specially formulated advanced tread compound resists cuts, chips and abrasions for long life and even wear.

I have read some reviews on another site, all were pretty positive, both on and offroad. From my 20 mile drive home I can say that the road noise wasn't bad, not any worse than my Bighorns, no vibrations, handled pretty close to the same, maybe a slight more noticeable sway in the corners, I'm thinking more from the higher center of gravity than the tires. Oh and the last portion of my driveway is a solid sheet of ice, the last 2 times I had to go up it in 4wd, today I made in in 2wd, so hopefully a little better traction than my other tires and not just a fluke.

Niiiiiice! Sweet deal, Ed!

A little bit off topic... I'm sure you're not always on even ground there, but it looks as though you have a little saggy rump? do you have 3 inch in the front and 4 inches in the rear? I have to look back at some of your Flex pix..... I think I destroyed 1 of my pax already in the rear.

Just curious what lift and if you have other plans to mess with the suspension anymore or something like that? Thing is looking sweet on 35 man!

Thanks live, I definitely like the 35's on there, and with the 302 V8, I don't notice any power loss...still running 4.10's lol. I haven't had a chance to check to see if the rear rubs at full compression, I think the front will be fine (except for my Smittybuilt bumper will need trimmed back.

Thanks Mark, I've been wanting 35's for awhile, will see how these work out, had some decent reviews on a couple sites. Yeah the ground was a little unlevel in the pics, but the rear is about an inch lower than what it should be. I plan to redo the rear suspension. I am currently running 2" blocks that came on the runner when I bought it, and I did a Zuk mod using Jeep TJ front coils (gained about 3" with it). I'd like to just buy a TG rear lift and be done with it, but I don't see that happening any time soon, looking into alternatives, chevy63's etc, probably go that route. Oh to answer your question, the front is a custom Toyota Ruf spring pack using 2" rear lift springs (unknown brand $40 from OneIwilly) combined with a set of stock Toyota rear springs, 6 leaves total, really happy with the front, flexs really well, handles and rides good too!

PS. sorry to hear about your leaf spring pack, I'll have to catch on your thread tonight when I get home from work

35's look perfect under 4Runners. Nice Rusty.

It really helps keep the pumpkin from bashing stuff.

I got a kick out of the 4.10s comment, I am sure that 302 has plenty of power for them. Looks great!!!

Thanks Red Wagon, I'm liking the added clearance on the diffs. I'm at 25-1/2 to 26"ish from the ground to the bottom of the frame. I drove it to work last night around Lake Roosevelt/Columbia River where the corners are pretty sharp and curvy, I was surprised at how well it still handled, doesn't feel top heavy like I was expecting.

Thanks Terry. Yeah I have had a few Toyotas on 33's and 35's with the stock 22R and still running the stock 4.10 gears, they definitely feel under powered and I ususally lost the use of 5th gear unless it was on the flats, lol. If I was ever to go with a 37's I'd probably regear to 4.88's, but I'm pretty happy with it how it is now.

That's good to know, I'm never satisfied for very long, always want to go bigger with the tires, lol. I like the Iroks, was thinking maybe 36's or 37's after these wear out, we'll see... right now my tranny is the weak link, (I'm still running a G52 or 54, can't remember) I need to find a good W56 (or a R151 if it will bolt up to my bellhousing adapter) before I go any bigger, but I have a lot of things that I need/want to do before that, it's all about time/money lol.

I forget which thread I read but here is some of the parts info I have collected. It comes in handy.

Great thread for parts OEM parts https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...-parts-258178/

GM alternator wire plug http://alternatorparts.com/search?query=461804&search=1 PN# 461804

204- FF.. is a part number for the Power Steering Pulley. $22

www.sparkplugs.com (with a "s" on plugs) has been great for O2 sensors. I have a California Emissions truck and got 2 sensors for the price of one that I would of paid from a parts store. Price varies

On ebay "BackseatAuto" Part Number 76689 is good replacement latches for the sliding back glass on pickups. It is for the 1 1/2" wide latch. Around $6 and $3 shipping. My 2WD has the 3/4" wide latch and I havent had to replace it. There are 2 different sizes on these trucks.

Another site for the backglass latch http://www.dkhardware.com/product-29...ta-trucks.html

"carpartswholesale" ebay seller for fuel pumps. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13464420007671

Part # 90916-03070 for Dual Stage Themostat. 4Runners with back heater can have this problem.

For your valves yes noisy is normal with the 22re...So usually what we all do is .007 and .011 COLD. Then they quite down but aren't too tight to cause issues. If you ask around most of the toyota gurus run 7-11 for valve clearance.

I had to work yesterday, but caught most of the game, (luckily I was filling in for someone that had a radio easily accessible). Still a little in disbelief, can't believe the Hawks finally won the Super Bowl!

Your runner looks great with the 35's. I bet the 302 will still roast those babies even with the 4.10's

I am so stoked the Seahawks won but man what a let down game. So one sided I found myself cheering on Denver a bit in hope of making it interesting.

I bet the Hawks take it again next year. Go Sea Hawks!

Thanks Gizler! I'm pretty happy with the 35's so far, I notice a little bit more body sway into the tight corners (Im usually driving over the speed limit before I can feel it tho, lol) a little more so than with the 33's, but not bad.

LOL, yeah it will definitely break them loose, but I try not to do any burnouts, the weak link is my G52 tranny, I hope to eventually get a low mileage W56, would love to find a R151F turbo tranny, but they usually want way to much for them, but the G52 has been holding up for a year and a half, probably just use it till it grenades!

I hear you with the tranny. Mine makes noise in 5th gear right now. These trannys are pretty tough. I drive one with out 1st gear synchros and no 3rd gear for 6 months. It would have lasted longer but I came upon a spare tranny.

I have a w56 sitting on my bench right now waiting to go in.

Sorry Red Wagon, I didn't see your post earlier. Yeah the game was pretty one sided, kind of glad I was listening to it on the radio, it seemed more exciting than what it probably actually was to watch, lol. Yeah I agree the Seahawks should be in a good position for a Repeat next year!

Yeah, when I first got my 4runner drivable after the sas and engine swap, we were in the middle of moving about 5 hrs away. I had barely 100 miles on the 4runner and the tranny started making all kind of noise going up this steep incline. I pulled over and went through the gears, made horrible noise in every gear except 4th. Couldn't afford a tow, so I ended up driving it back 30+ miles to town using only 4th gear, it was kinda sketchy in town at 25mph, but I made it. Couldn't find a w56 any where for the life of me(when you can usually find them all day long in that area on CL) so ended up going another g52 just to get it drivable. At least it's holding up so far!
