ha, ha... no, wheelies yet, lol, but I was pretty happy with the over road handling of the runner, even my wife thought it road, and handled the bumps and dips really well (we have some really bad ones, the type that make you hit your head on the roof if your not buckled in, lol) she thought it had a plush ride compared to my full size blazer and my my 83' yota, so if she's happy I'm ecstatic, lol. I can't wait to get the shocks mounted, then it should handle even better, also power steering is greatly missed! I still need to find some new crank and water pump pulleys and Fab up a steering pump bracket, but like I said, the runner is going to have to wait a little while until I get some more free time.

Great to hear that it handles well, with the weight of the 5.0 how's the rear ride? I know that without a rear bumper their seem to be bounces a lot.......Bill

Hey Bill, the rear actually rides really nice, I think it has a lot to do with the zuk mod that I did using the Jeep tj front coilsprings. I wish I had left the coils springs a little longer to match the height of the front better, I might just try some longer shackles. I definately need to build a rear bumper though!

Yeah, I really recommend the Jeep tj front coils, they are inexpensive, and you dont have to cut or modify the upper bump stop, they fit like they were made for it!

Naughty naughty. Should not even know that.

Better safe than sorry when operating a motor vehicle.

Looking forward to some wheeling photos.

I know that feeling of no time. I go on a long road trip at the end of august but am home for only two weeks from the mine. So much to get done. To top it off my mom dropped in for a week keeping me from the garage.

Got a little done today.... I got the passengerside shockhoop welded in and the shock mounted. I still need to do the driverside. Also need longer brake lines (might just get a couple of the rear lines with the male and female ends and thread them onto the existing brakelines to lengthen them. Here's some pics

Thanks guys! Progress has been a little slow as of late, been working on our house trying to finish all those little projects that never seemed to get done, we put our house up for sale last week, so just trying to make it look its best, lol. My wife and I are thinking about moving out of the area and try something new, we're hopefully going up to visit my parents at their new house at the end of the month to help them do some work on their new place, (they moved to Republic WA pretty close to the Canadian border about 4.5- 5 hr drive from us) and part of the plan is to scout the surrounding areas to see if it might be somewhere we might like to live. Anyway, I'd love to take he 4 runner on this "roadtrip" just need to make sure all the bugs are worked out, and see if it gets the wife's OK, (no AC and in this heatwave, i kinda doubt it ,lol.) Anyway thanks for the compliments and kind words, hopefully Ill get the driverside shock mounted today, and then Ill show ya my idea for the front driveline.

Hey Bill, I used TG's shockhoops, but I ordered them thru Addicted Off-road, cuz they were cheaper than going directly thru TG. You can also get them thru Wab Fab and Lowrange off-road and get a better deal than going thru TG, lol.

Your hoops have a nice clean look, like it was factory. Great job. It is nice to take a project on the road bu with the heat and not being able to test, can understand why you wouldnt want to take it so soon. That day will get here, hang in there. Good luck on the house sale. Here they have sat 2 plus years waiting to sell. Hope yours goes well.
