I was thinking of a locker down the road and from what I just seen,it is further down the road. $320...Ouch!! It will make a difference though.

Is your main harness prewired for windows? I dont know if the wiring is there or not.

the 90 we have every winter has some kind of growling drag in the front its intermittent not the shafts which have been replaced over the years but you can feel it drag a bit as you let off the gas neither side pulls so its been very hard to find and it only happens when its been cold (like less than 35F)
My truck was doing this noise in the middle of summer time. IT would normally do it in the mornings or after the truck would sit for a long time(like overnight) IT doesnt do it anymore. I dont think our temperatures out here in CA have ever gone below 35F woo glad its never been that cold hahaha

Anyway........... Just wondering if you've found the FSM..... It has a bit more than the Haynes on 'procedure for troubleshooting windows and door locks' and 'all the wiring therein', 'connectors', etc., etc.........

If you'd like a copy for yourself(not sure why you never downloaded it... you silly, silly man! hahaha, jk)... anyway, if you want it, I'll gladly load it on a disc for ya and you can come pick it up tomorrow, k? Lemme know.

Sorry I couldn't be there to walk you through all that...., but hopefully it helped(I say hopefully, cuz I was going by the "off the top of my head" files.... that's scary! ) .

HANG IN THERE.... YOU'LL GET IT, BUD! Or should I say... "It will all dawn on you" hehehe.
Mark Thanks for pointing out my typo lol. And yea I'm still getting used to this new Samsung Galaxy SIII phone. the keyboard is so much different then my last phone and tends to Auto-Correct my words to something else a lot!
As far as the FSM's i didnt even know they were available online.
Also THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING UP THOSE PICTURES! That's exactly what DeathCougar posted up in that other thread. only it was just the first page and a blurry version. lol This is exactly what i was looking for. I'm gonna need to print these out in a bit.

Hi Terry, The locker came out to that much from the marlin crawler website with tax and shipping costs. So yea it was expensive lol. But yea having this will make all the difference in the world! cant wait to get that 2nd locker. for the front. WOOO WEEE my trucks gonna be crawling over houses when i get all this stuff installed haha

My harness doesnt have anything for power windows or mirrors. i am going to have to somehow wire the all these cables into a another breaker. I did happen to pull the 2 breakers off the donor vehicle. when i compare that to the one i have in my truck i see mine only has one. so i'm gonna either add one breaker to the slot(if its possible) or ill just install the breaker i got off the donor.
As far as the wiring harness goes. I checked to see if the wiring is all there and no it wasn't. In fact, the wiring that goes from the inside of my truck into the doors(from where the hinges are) arent even there. There should be 1 hole about 1" toward the middle/top side of the door where the hinges are. The only wires i have going into my doors are my power locks. that's it.

I'm going to try to make you guys a video or take some pictures to better explain this.

My pleasure, Richard. Had to fish a bit, but these pages are 1200-1215 or so... And the diagrams are in the 1400's somewhere. 1480-something, IIRC.

Glad I could help yesterday, too. One of the highlights of 'WOOT, I'M GETTING IT!', when I started to get this wiring thing a LITTLE bit, lol. I think several of them run off the switched portion of the breaker, then some off the ground portion, etc. I believe the "DOOR PANEL" version, as you can see, have 8 pins. Not sure why that has 10, as you said yesterday. The armrest type says 10 pins in the window relay module.... haha. Either situation, the pins are numbered and listed in those particular pages... That should help even more to understanding things.

Far as 'available online', which you stated.... I'm sure they are, as I just saw someone with a sig that said, "FSM's STILL available, here>>> " .... BUT, mine, yeah, it's from the link in my sig, which I apparently need to update, as it's not coming up any longer???

I know www.autoshop101.com or something like that has VERY good write ups.... They're literally like courses right on line, but with all the same info... just more of it, for covering MULTIPLE car makers.

The Haynes WILL be of use to you, however... and I've always preferred to have the paper in hand, pacing as I rub my receding hair line further up the path! lol. No, jk... kinda, .... hehe... I really like to be able to look at it right there.

How's the GSIII?

Alright guys I've been up to a lot of stuff in the past week. But first thing's first. I'VE GOT SOME GREAT NEWS EVERYBODY! I just spoke to our insurance agent. Our uninsured motorists is gonna cover the damages to my front end on the Corolla
I'm getting a check for $1750. Not bad considering I've already fixed the whole front by myself for just $120 huh lol
All I need to do now is hit up another junk yard and pull off a rear bumper. Then once I have that I'll take the car to have both bumpers and hood painted then I'll be like new again woot!

Thanks for dropping by. I'm really stoked for myself too hahaha. Especially because I should be getting another cash payout sometime in the future for the the accident prior to this one when the Honduras guy changed lanes into me. I need to call and find out mad see what's up with that claim.

That money would definitely be enough to buy the rest of the SAS, suspension, and the rear 4.88s. But considering my Corolla is my DD I have to get this one fixed first.
Hard to fight the need to spend it all on parts. Lol must.... fight.... it.....

Great news on your Corolla. Since it is your DD, I would get it back in tip top shape again even though it would be tempting to do the runner. That could be a tough fight though.

We'll my car is in perfect running condition now. ive been driving it to and from work for the past week now. But I hate mismatched parts on a car. It just needs to get painted thats all. Gonna grab a rear bumper off a junk yard soon. Once i have that in my posession i'm gonna go ahead and take the car(bumpers/hood) to get painted to match the current sparkly black color of my current paint job. I doubt the rest of what i need to have done on the car will cost me more then $400 so i'm thinking i should still have approx $1300 left over to buy SAS parts. So thats what my final decision is.
1) Get Rear bumper then paint everything
2) Order all the missing SAS parts and Rear 4.88's off TrailGear.com AND DRIVE OVER THERE TO PICK UP ALL THE STUFF TO SAVE ON SHIPPING COSTS! Will probably be a 1&1/2hour drive for me.
3) Save up some more money, again, and buy the two 12" and two 14" travel Walker Evans or Fox shocks.

At least steps 1-2 will be enough to begin getting my SAS started; taking off IFS stuff and welding the rest on to the truck. I'm sure my truck is gonna be Non-Op for a good 1&1/2 to 2 months since we're only gonna be working on it little by little on weekends and sometimes after work days.

WOOTSKIE! lol.... great to hear, man. You might just drop some tiny bit of body work on the car on those lil dings that bug ya and shoot the whole thing, maybe? Probably not needed... Why bother, right? But at least it will be matching... I TOTALLY feel ya on that! haha.

I finally got an inclinometer. Now I can be part of the cool crowd like all the rest of you guys lol
Thanks Mark for this piece. Been wanting one of these since I bought the truck. Everything works on it and it's in nice condition. I just have to do something about that funky red color lol.

Terry, I think your wife's truck is about the only red interior 4runner I will ever like lol. But since my 4runner has gray interior I wanted to paint it Gray to match my dash. Mind giving me some recommendations such as brand or where to buy it?

Btw Mark, who was it that you told me made a thread on how to install one of these? I wanna take a look at the thread to see where to tap in to for power and where to drill on the dashboard and save it onto my links.
I figure I can probably get started with painting the cover and also adding on some super bright LEDs to match the rest of my dash. Once I install the power windows I'll go ahead and install this piece too since I'm gonna have to take off the dashboard for both projects.

If all goes well I am gonna finally get my power windows to work today. If I'm able to get them working going up and down then I'm gonna have me a nice power window installation weekend. I just wanna see these bad boys working now.

Super motivated after seeing Marks truck this past Saturday. I have so many things I wanna do to it. Including that rear light mod. Can't wait to get out of work so I can get started.

Hi Jason, thanks for dropping by.

Well i did have about a good hour before the sun began to go down.
I didnt have any luck guys! After grounding it to my actual truck rather then the (-) on the battery and seeing it didnt work I've honestly reached a wall. I have no clue how to get these windows to work so i made this video in hopes of getting some of your honest opinions. I know im not very thorough in my explanation but its the best i could do with the sun going down. If you guys cant understand me then ill go ahead and make another one tomorrow. explaining more in detail and wire colors etc.... Here it is:

Wow, I don't envy you on the 'Proverbial Spaghetti Soup Wiring Debacle'!

I really wish I had more time to look things up and such right now... But I HAVE to keep up with all that's coming at me. I will do whatever I can when things free up for me a lil bit... For now... I'll try to make some time to bust out the FSM again and look at the pages I sent ya... DANG this stuff... It's usually 'ONE SIMPLE THING' that we're looking right past.

What I will say is that .... well, it sounds like you're still kinda 'GUESSING' in regards to what some of the schematic means... That's where it was HUGE for me... Until I FULLY understood the Schematic in relation to practical application.. I REFUSED to wire it up for my rear cargo lighting, etc. I know, it works... but if you walked with me through that on my build.... I had a HECK of a time at first, just understanding it. Once I did? OH YEAH, BABY! lol.

First off... there HAS TO BE a way to test that relay. My guess is it's NOT the relay... I would bet more often on the switches... BUT, they CAN go bad... No doubt! There's a test, I'm sure, that you can perform by knowing which pins to put 12V to and which to Ground... then listen for the clicking and WAY MORE IMPORTANTLY, lol... A lil more technical rendering from the old trusty 'MULTI-METER'

I'm really sorry, man... I know you're frustrated... but HANG IN THERE, you're gonna have it 'CLICK' and just totally laugh your rump off, ya feel me?

Thanks mark. I have to invest some money into a multimeter so I'm able to properly test each wire. I really hope it's not the buttons or the relay but just wrong wiring. I don't like this spaghetti soup of wires either but oh well. Gotta deal with it ya know.

definitely get a Vom meeter (volt Ohm's mutimeeter) they arent that expensive an can constantly come in handy many have circuit breakers now instead of fuses when you over load them which can happen

a continuity test can audibly beep to tell you you have a good wire an switches beeping when they have a complete circuit

Yeah I figured I would need 1 anyways. So I went to harbor Freight right after work today and bought myself a pretty decent multi meter for $43. Now I can finally put this FSM to use.
