You can't see the video? Hmm... Let me see if I can change the status of that video through my phone I hope.

Edit: I just changed the YouTube video to public at 09:53am. Try now.

----------------------------------------------------
Outsane yea I got some good stuff, Chefyota got some better stuff though lol. But I'm happy I at least have a working water container/motor. Now I can finally squirt my windshield and use working wipers lol. I've never had that luxury.

BTW I forgot to mention I also found some of those plastic spark plug wire holders that mount on to the top of my motor. I've been looking for these for a long time but not many 4runners for pickups have these in good condition or not broken at the junk yard. so I think this was probably a refined. I just like it because it makes my motor look more organized. Here's a picture.

You guys are lucky down there, we never have anything good at the pick n pull, the only Toyota's we get are 2wd early 80's and are picked apart in minutes of arriving.

MY PLEASURE, man.... I was walking by that truck(it was an 86-88 2wd Pick Up, BTW ) .... and that thing was all clean and it just clicked in my brain! (which I was quite surprised by, as my brain has been doing that "Hey, what did I walk in here for, grrrrrr"-crap to me, constantly lately! hahaha. Was VERY surprised to see the motor and all hosing and such.. so I snaggled it for ya til you got there. They VERY OFTEN are one of the first things to go.. But most guys just RIP the thing out... then snag the motor and connector off it ... Freakin KNOBS! lol.

Very cool to see that working man

The HORN problem is somewhat as you said... The stock first gen horn is a 'switched ground'.... that second wire doesn't allow the contact to be made until you press the horn. With the Relay, you'd be including the switched ground from our system into the relay(which is like a switch in a way... As you press your horn, the relay will FLIP THE POLE to make contact, but until then, it will not, which keeps it from honking on and on like you noticed, lol.) I think single wire set up is probably less likely to fail/cause problems, as you're taking the switched ground out of the picture by 90 4Runners, etc. I'll be doing my 91 Cadillac Horn, as you heard, which is CRAZY loud and much more manly! hahaha. I'll likely do 2 of them... so that's an EASY grab at the yards.

Master Cylinder is dun-du-du-du-dunnnnnnnnnn! lol. Wanna get on that pretty quick, Richard... NOT pricey at all.. BUT, might want to consider a Master and booster swap while doing it, anyway, ya know? You'd need to double check, but the 93 T100 from Autozone or whatever is like 35$... The Aisin on line is like 48$ delivered... NO BATTLE in my head over that choice, ya know? TRUST ME, ... that Aisin will last another 20 years if you maintain your system and keep it powerbled on occasion, ya know? The other portion of the 'BRAKE UPGRADE', since you already have V6 Calipers, is to put in a Dual Diaphragm Booster... ours are single diaphragm... So if you put that T100 1" bore master on there... .the pedal will get REALLY stiff(or maybe it was too soft... can't remember)... The 1" bore is a larger piston and cylinder, which is good... but it's also more area to compress.(like boring out a cylinder... you go to 20 over, you lose compression a lil bit... So the Dual Diaphragm booster would make up for that as it was intended to.) I NEVER see them in the yards... but I'M WATCHING the "recently added" stuff... I WILL find one the day it's added and grab the booster... The master will be new, I'm not gonna mess around. My Master Cylinder is original, Richard..... 280K miles, basically. So you know that they're capable of lasting, ya know? Just that your guy probably ran the pads and shoes down to nothing all the time, etc... So, well, that puts tremendous wear on the master and over limits the wheel cylinders and caliper pistons....

Personally, if I were you, I'd think about rebuilding my calipers while in there. The kit from toyotapartszone.com is NOT that pricey.... And you'd VERY MUCH enjoy the results after the whole things done, from EVERYTHING I've read.

Yea I plan to rebuild those when I SAS. Might as well have everything sooped up and ready to kick some arse on the trails ya know.
I also agree with you. I've also read about those T100 booster and master cylinder. I gotta look onto that as for it vet much needed due to awesome off-roading.

Alright today I finally had time to remove my black bumper and grill. So I finally installed my replacement hood latch and OMG what a difference it makes when it actually works lol. I love the fact that it holds it down so tight. And it doesn't jiggle at all.
The next thing I did was adjust my headlights because they were still pretty crooked even after adjusting them the previous time. But its kinda hard to do this in broad daylight so who knows I might still be a little off but I did it as well as I could tell for now.
Then I got the extra clips I got for the grill. It turns out I need about 3 more because mine are just really in bad condition. But even with the 2 extra clips I put on today my grill feels to fit a little tighter now. So yay that's a plus.

Tomorrow I think I wanna see if I can reinforce my door panels so they can hold up my 6" door speakers. I might as well make it look nice of not those big ol' holds the PO made in the doors are gonna be a huge eye soar. I'll get to it if I have time.
----------------------------------------------------------
BTW I know I mentioned this to Mark over the phone already but just a bit off subject, I finally got my Corolla back and I go ally had an chance to test it out pretty good for the past two days and it feels so nice! It glides in so smooth. It's like butter. Very nice job that this mechanic did. He did mention that my car stalls on first gear a bit and it isn't my clutch. He mentioned cars with that problem usually have an air flow sensor going bad. So I was stuck to either buy a rebuilt one for $85 with core or $145 for a new OEM one. Or take a chance and just clean it up a bit with some Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner that only costs like $4. So I went with the $4 cleaner and guess what it is back and good for another few months lol no more stalling. I do, however have a check engine light on at the moment. So I wanna take a look and see what that might be too because I've had that on for a couple of months now.

Here's another thing I forgot to mention. I bought some supplies so ill be ready when the SFA rebuild starts.
Got some Purple Power to clean off the left over funk that's still stuck on the axle. Got some gray spray primer with some black paint cans. Red high heat resistant caliper paint so when I paint my calipers and my high steer arms. Still debating if I want those Hy-Steer arms red or not. Might keep it black. It'll probably look cleaner.
----------------------------------------------------------------
I want to get that AuburnGear locker out of my neighbor's old rear Toyota axle sometime soon. Once that is out I am gonna send the 3rd member, 4.88 gears and the locker to be professionally installed then my rebuild can finally start.

That's all I got for now.

I would say to paint em black, it will make it look cleaner rather than breaking up the lines with a sudden red against all the other black.

Far as the brakes, ... you're gonna need em! lol... That thing WILL be a lil heavier and taller with bigger tires, lift, SFA, big ole spring kits.... Probably not LOTS heavier, but some. Sounds good! 50% off sale coming up.. I am gonna try to hit it this weekend and stash stuff, haha.

Great to hear that the grill thing worked out! Far as the panels... I say grab new ones and pull a Grego hahaha.... Reinforce em if you can... sure... BUT, it could prove fruitless... REALLY cheap for that project board, man! Then you can put it back in the pocket so that holds it up too... and reinforce around the hole with something and use 'fasten-nuts', ya know?

AWESOME to hear that the Lil Yotarolla is rolling smooth!

X2 what mister Woods said! The red calipers look ok though..... if you already have the paint, and aren't using it... just return it for the black, ya know? But painting them is a good idea for sure. Even painting them Alumicote or stainless high heat would maybe look a lil more 'FLOWING' with the rest of the colors that the rig is, right?

Last night I finally mounted the engine bay light that Mark and I bought at the pick ur part a while back. Haven't had any time the past few weeks to get on anything so now that I have time I've been trying to knock out all these little projects that have been bugging me for a while.

I did record a video for you guys. But I unfortunately the one time I decide to record a video with my regular camera rather then my phone the internet decides to go out lol. So I should have my internet back up some time today I hope. Unfortunately I get horrible phone service here at my parents house so I can't even download the video file and upload it on to YouTube through my phone either lol

Anyway, ill have some pix and videos up later today.

Check the AC plug in daylight....

^^^ just a reminder to keep ya thinking about it.

Alright Gentlemen, finally I have my video.
Right off the bat I'd like to apologize for my language at the very start of the video. But that darn dog across the street messed up my video 6 times before I just said screw it and decided to keep shooting the video with it barking in the background. I did not edit anything out on the video. I decided to leave it because when I watched it I thought it was kind of funny lol.

Anyway here is the video of my Suburban Engine Bay Light Mod. Hope you guys like it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujgv...e_gdata_player

I will take some pix of the mod and just edit this message later today and add them.

BTW if you guys can't play the video off your smart phone just go ahead and open up your YouTube app and type in my username "RedethMusic" and you should be able to play my video then. It is the most recent one.

Hey Richard, ...thanks for the props... Appreciate the mention ... And you're very welcome.

Nice install! VERY clean. Did you pull the inner fender skirt off to make sure the self tapping screws didn't dig into any wiring? Yep... there's quite a bit of wiring that runs along the top seam of the fender/or near there... I just can't remember where.... So only thing I'd suggest you do is to pull that plastic underside skirt off and check, ya know? Other than that? ENJOY IT! lol.... I think you could grab a spare door buzzer/light switch, the one that turns on your dome when opening the door... and have the light come on any time you open the hood if you wanted. MEH, personally, while I MIGHT do that, it's really just an unnecessary PITA extra step, hahaha... BUT, would be cool. OH, yeah, forgot... WATCH YOUR MOUTH YOUNG MAN! hahaha.

Far as the LED... this one, i believe, is 220 Lumen! (the one we spoke on).... The 4 LED bulb festoon from superbrightleds.com that I have in? That's 65! hahaha. Imagine 4 times that, eh? AND, that is 360*degrees of bulbs.... Here's the problem, possibly... might be too tall, especially looking at your video there. NOT a lot of extra space atop that stock bulb... so, heres the bulb pic and then dimensions.... MEASURE from TOP OF METAL to end of bulb lens cover in your fixture that you installed... If it's less, it wont fit, obviously....>>>(OH, btw.... I just looked and I think it's 45 LEDS! lol).....>>>

Looks like the bulb is 1.70" tall from tip to top.... measure your stock bulb... I think it would be CLOSE... but might work. That bulb is 24$ or so, I believe... BUT, .... using around 1/10th of the power? I THINK.... You'd have to look at power usage, etc.

Hey Richard,

I was in a good mood because I found something I've been looking long and hard for, for my Camry.

I came upon an 87' and remembered your F'd up door panels and tried to do you a favor, but now realized you have MANUAL WINDOWS!! Unless, if you were planning on switching over to automatic (I stashed the big rectangular driver side switch and the passenger side switch in a hiding location). I actually did the hiding for myself in case you didn't want them so that I would have a complete panel.

Let me know if you want these by tonight, otherwise they become mine to restore and hold onto. I'm 95% sure I will be purchasing a Gen1 4runner in the not too far future and it will be grey interior because that's what I like. So no loss at all to me if you want to pass. I wouldn't have purchased them if I didn't know what I was going to do with them if you didn't want them.

They're dirty but surely cleanable. The particle panels are screwed up, but all you really need to do is wash the skins and put the skins over your existing particle board panels to cover those gaping speaker holes. OF COURSE, you'll have to want to upgrade to automatic windows too though! Or you can just live with smaller holes than what you got. I wasn't too concerned about the tear I zoomed in on, as the big master control switch covers most of it up and then a little heat and glue fix anything that is left showing. Anyhow, Let me know!! you get 24 hours, because once I leave tomorrow morning to grab those switches they become mine.

Ahhh Greg thanks for thinking of me man. I would really like those. But unfortunately I dont have Any reconstructing skills like you do to rebuild those. But it would be really nice to have power windows. I like that feature a lot.

Did those door panels have the window switches and thing to make the window go up and down too? Motor and wires n stuff. Cuz I would need that too.
-----------------------------------------

Mark I will definitely check out that bulb fitting amd spacing under that cover I really want that light to be brighter

Yes, all the hardware is there. I stashed the switches in a car and you would just need to grab the wiring and whatever else. It doesn't take much skill to wash fabric with soap and staple/glue it back on your existing boards!

Just let me know, because like I said, if you don't want them I'm going to go back and grab those switches and stuff so I can have a complete setup for my future build.

Definitely want them. That would be such a convenient swap. Plus I'm just lazy to roll my windows up and down manually haha. But its definitely convenient to have when you're driving so you don't need to reach over to roll up the passenger side or driver side.

Should I give you my number? Or send me yours in a pm? I dunno
I need to know what wiring to get for those windows cuz I don't know how far I must unplug or cut. At least so I know what to remove so I don't accidentally leave something behind.

Hey Richard....

If it has power mirrors, I'd grab those too... VERY easy install, wiring would all be there to grab out of the 87 Grego's talking about... and then you'd just pull all the wiring to the door window switches, the mirror window wiring and even grab the grommets and pull the wiring one at a time all the way back through the door/chassis and right up to the fuse block... Then it would just be plug and play, ya know? Just would have to wire those pins into your fuse panel, etc. I'm sure the wiring is all that's going to the "POWER WINDOW MODULE" IN THE BACK/BEHIND THE DRIVER that I've shown you to tap on? I posted pics of it as well.... You could do this, .... or ANYTHING you put enough research/study into. Just measure everything out, extend the wires longer if you just cut, ...then get pins for fuse connections and slap em in the back of the panel if they're empty(might already be wired for it TO the fuseblock, etc. But if not, that's why I said grab the wiring all the way to the fuse block, ya know?)... The doors are open and panels already off.... CAKE! But you'd need to grab EVERYTHING.... the window plate, mechanisms,.... To be honest, it'd be easier to just grab the whole door, but you don't wanna pay for that, ya know? Depends on how much it is when they add it all up in parts, compared to just grabbing the door, complete, minus panels, ya know? You could paint them to match really easily... and then it'd be a half day job rather than a few days.

Just thinking out loud, Richard... LOTS of threads on guys converting to power windows/mirrors(super-duper package) BTW... it has a moonroof, I think Grego said lol.

Dude I would so love to have me a nice moon roof. But that would require hacking off my whole top with a sawzall and welding, grinding, sanding, then painting and also measuring to make sure that it all aligns right with everything. Ugh just thinking about it sounds like a pain in the arse. Lol
Just spoke with Gregory about am hour ago. Looks like the 4runner is pretty intact still. I might have a blast picking parts off this baby. I feel this trip tomorrow is unfortunately gonna take a toll on my wallet. But it ain't every day you come across something like this. So I might as well take advantage of it now.
