Was a stressfull weekend in the shop, but sunday by noon this happened:

3VZE Start Up Video

Went like this. Sat morning get down in the shop early. Put starter in, connect drive shafts, fill up fluids. Moment of truth, turn key, Dash light up!! go to start it and it just clicks.

Check all connections, figure it mist be the starter. Pull it out and bench test it to find its frozen. Throw the one from the parts runner in and she turns over!!! but no runn-y. This is where the headache started.

Fuel, check. spark, check, Compression, check. Wtf. swapped out distributor, still nothing. Must be timing. Pull out the light, and its effing broken. Do a bunch of tests to make sure were at TDC, but still no run. Borrow a timing light and its not reading right. SO we call it a night, and head to the internet to look for some asnwers.

Sunday morning we get in the shop, and decide to pull the front end apart to MAKE SURE timing is right. and this is what we found.

This was the issue, the key on the crank wasnt out far enough to grab the balancer. So we get it back together just enough to see it if will start, and after advancing the dist a tooth, she starts!!! F YEAH. Havent heard this thing run in over a year! aaaaaand I was out of time for the weekend. Cant make it back to the shop for 2 weeks, but I should be able to drive it out of the shop!!

Im pretty excited.

Also mounted up my vice to the hitch mount. Hope I never need it on the trail, but this will come in handy!

All in all, pretty sweet weekend, cant wait to get back down.

Holy poo I finally drove the truck today. The motor seems to have a skip to it, But I was able to drive it up the hill from the old shop to the new shop. About 2 mikes with no hood or grill. Haha, looked kinda funny. Will look into the skipping tomorrow, after that it will be another 2 weekends before I can get down to work on it again (Off wheelin the DD, Haha) . Heres some out side pics.

Bye bye old shop.

I should have put the grill on it for the pictures. Oh well.

My wonderful girl helping me out move all my stuff up the hill. She always makes me smile.

And up at the new shop. So much more room here and its right at the house.

Hopefully have some wheelin pics here soon.

WHeeled the truck for about an hour behind the wood at the shop. Man it feels good to drive it. Found a nickle size hole in the frame above the rear drivers bumpstop. No biggie, ill being the buzz box down with me next time and patch it. Finished putting the budbuilt skid on and tested it, man this thing rocks! Then powerwashed it and took a few pics.

Got the 2 sort of washed for a quick few pics.

I was too busy driving to take any pics of wheelin...soon ill get some.

Finally was able to get a weekend in at the shop. Started as break pads turned in to wheel bearing service and new calipers on both sides.

The plate on the front its from '63. We found it when cleaning out the old shop. It says "See Vermont" on the bottom of it. I think they should bring it back. Haha.

Heres a game: Spot the new parts!! Haha. Rust is a killer.

Aand my sister got me this for christmas. Thought it was time to put it on.

Im heading down next weekend to get some more done.
