Talked to a freind who does body work...said hed charge me $35 an hour plus parts to fix my rear qaurter rust. I think thats a good deal, and hes an old freind so i know he'll do it right.Gonna try and use front fenders as patch panels for the qaurters.

Brie had to pick up TJ from baseball practice and actually asked to drive mine over her 97. Then she asked why the tops not off...ITS NEVER BEEN OFF..
But still looks fine.

Sounds like a good deal on the quarter panel body work, I'd be interested to see the fenders used as patch panels, seems like I saw a thread on that awhile back.

Your runners looking good, I always like the white with white top, they look clean even when they're dirty, lol, I've owned so many red vehicles, wish mine was white!

Thats a great deal!

Truck looks so mean with those tires on it! I think it would look great with the top off. We need to get soft tops!!

I have never really looked to see how close front fenders arches were to the rear. Got me curious now.

Im sure YOU could make it happen Terry!! From what ive read you use the drivers fender on the pass rear and vice versa.

This is what my old college roommate did with his old Honda CRX. Used some old front fenders, and like you said, Pass to drivers rear and vice versa. Worked great for him.

I was just looking at your pictures and I guess I never noticed how much the front fenders actually resemble the rear arches so much. Should be a pretty easy repair.

First time the tops ever been off in its lifetime. Pretty easy to do. have to be careful with the plastic trim its old and brittle. There was a few cracks in the trim that i fixed with gorilla super glue. Had it off for a day until it rained and was able to get it back on and snugged down.

Nice having it off, I gave my trim pieces away, removed the 2dowel pins in the rear and only have 4bolts holding my top on year round, makes it real easy to get off, well until I lifted it

Thats what one of my old students does with his 4runner. Takes him just a few minutes to take it off.

I would love to take mine off throughout the summer, But I just have no where to put it once its removed.

^ Thats how I had the top on my 87. Threw away the trim pieces (they were old and cracked) I left the dowel pins, they help to align everything, 2 bolts in the back, by passed the window switch, 2 in the front, and 2 in the top. Could have it off in 10 min, never leaked.

Your runner looks really good topless! I can't wait for summer to officially hit so I can have mine off for more than one day at a time, lol. I really want to try to build my own full soft top. I found some Sunbrella marine grade canvass fabric on eBay for $7.50 a yard....gotta get some other projects finished first before I even think about starting this one, lol.

Looks great with the top off. I too don't stick all of the bolts back in. Waiting for the rain to stop to take ours off. I keep mine runners under the carport and they stay dry there. The tops just sit on the ground and a little rinsing gets what mud may splash on from the rain.

I seen somewhere, maybe it was Marlin Crawler or Pirate on making a top. Wish I would of kept a link to it, but now cant find it when I want to. One of them was converting a jeep to fit a runner. Still kicking myself in the butt for not marking that link.

I like this DIY bikini if that's what you want: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...ni-top-119857/

I haven't seen any DIY full tops that looked very good IMO.

I would love to make a DIY topper. Or just come across one that's used for a good deal. But they go so fast.

Just found one last week in Denver that went within an hr of him posting it
