Thunder storm turned to hail storm turned to snow, and snowing again today. Uhm yay spring is here supposedly. I'd really prefer my spring moisture in a liquid form thanks.

(what flows through that?? ex gas, coolant, oil??? NOOB question haha)
EGR gasses. Think that gasket set was about 5$ when I looked from napa.

Haha. I know! I'm about ready to put a tarp over the front half of it. Haha.

It's now coming in in the drivers side from the rubber grommet that the harness comes through.

Part of my big issue is that I have no inner fender wells. So all the seams and basically everything in the fender wells gets pummeled by everything I drive through and over.

Hey Husker - great work! I've seen you chime in on several posts recently but didn't know you had a build thread

Did you get that camera cable yet LOL?

That FJ in your avatar looks cool - is that near you or you found online?

That plate on the back of the head for the EGR is a cooler for exhaust gases. Make sure you hook that up and the water pipe that wraps around the head and connects to it...BEFORE you install the engine or the head. I had to do this after I installed my new head with the engine in the truck....what a PITA!

Looking forward to the build progress and PICS!

Thanks for the input Phil!!That fj pic i found online (thought it was cool, jewel of the nile!!haha)

Im confused on installing the waterpipe before the head?? The waterpipe connects to the intake and head which has to be installed AFTER the head is on the block correct?? Atleast i did it after the head and intake was installed and i did have to remove the fuel filter and bracket to get the waterpipe in place. But yes a major PITA after engine is sitting in the vehicle.

As for my camera cord to transfer pics...in the mail as we speak buddy!!

I plan on posting lotsa pics since ive been weaslin out lately (sorry fellas!)

Ok im headed to the garage to install that egr gasket, finish wire wheelin and paint my swaybar. Then install swaybar with drop kit and install the new stabilizer links.

I owe myself a couple beers too cause i did rear brakes, axle seals on a 99 gmc 1ton 4x4 full floater axle. Kinda tricky...havent done it for awhile.

The pipe does install after the head and intake is on. The bolts that hold it to the intake are tricky sometimes and like to break. It's not impossible to do when the engine is in but way easier on a stand.

Sorry I should have said that it bolts to the lower intake and then to a strap that is attached to the back of the head. So what i usually do if out of the truck, i strap it to the head first them to the lower intake. if in the truck, i would have it in an attached to the coolant hose then back of head then to lower intake. Them that pipe comes around and has a coolant hose from the heater core connect I it. I might have some pics

Yeah, I broke one of the 5 bolts when putting that cooling thing one with the water pipe bracket...lame. I'm leaving it and praying....

I also had to remove the fuel filter to squeeze the pipe in between it and the head. I'd recommend installing the pipe to the strap that mounts on the back of the head, then attaching the head, then attaching the intake, and THEN bolting the pipe to the bottom of intake....agree. Gizler?

Yes sir Gizler and Phil i agree. It has to be a process and dont overtorque the hardware. Just like the waterpump, tming cover also. Have to go by the specs and dont superman it. They will break!! Well i installed the pipe with no problems and the egr plate on the back of the head. I plan on installing the engine this weekend, I have the lower intake installed but will install wiring harness, rail and injectors and upper later. I still am planning on sending my injectors off to be tested.

I also finished prepping the swaybar, primed and painted black, and attempted to install but the holes in my drop kit blocks did not line up so i need to adjust the bushings by rotating them on the swaybar or make the holes line up.

TAX RETURN HAS CRAZY $$$ TOYOTA THOUGHTS RUNNIN THROUGH MY HEAD $$$!! Have to relax...

Forgot to mention that I have no inner fender wells because the front fenders are trimmed and there's no way to attach them. But I'm gonna pick some up tomorrow and find a way to make them work. It's becoming a pain in the a$$ not having them.
