After pulling the dash, soon you will be pulling heater cores, wiring harnesses, and heater control switches. lol... While you still have a chance, practice on those two trucks on taking the dash apart. It will give you alot of confidence in yours when you have to replace your core. Even if it is awhile before you change your core, alot of it will come back to you when you do it and I could remind you over the phone on what you do if you forget.

thanks for the info terry, I will be digging into that idea soon. Dragon terry is always a source for good info.

Ok quick udate, since I finally got my 3rd gen out of the shop and most of the projects for it finnished up for the time being I decided to spend some time on this od girl.
I still havent got he fuel ssue sorted out I jst kinda putered around on it, It was ealy nice to just tinke and not feel any presure to really get anything done. I got the fresh air door asembly swaped out that was a big relief. I wanted to swap dash pads out with the 84 pickup I had I pulled oth pads awhile back, the one out of the 84 had a few cracks but was way better than the one I had, I picked up a vynal reair kit at autozone and fixed the cracks it worked really well I will post up some pics asap. I started painting some of the dash parts its looking really good. I also started to do my sterio install. like I said just kinda oofed around but still managed to get a few things done. I will get some pics up soon. thanks for checking in.

hey cyberhorn, Im really happy with the results of the vinyl repair, I think it would work great on door panels or any vinyl surface. It has a little tool that you have heat up and it kinda bonds everything back together, it also came with 2 or 3 plates to put a pattern back in the surface. I will get some pics up of it as soon as i can.

There are some pattern pieces but the pic won't up load, any way you heat this tool up lay the matching pattern over the repair run this tool over it and that gives you you texture back.

Update. I have not been able to remove the supply line from the tank, the last thing I want to do is break it so I decided to try the next best thing. I pulled the drain plug out of the tank, drained the gas out and filled and drained with water several times, then and viniger per Terrys advice I'm letting it soak I hope this does the trick.

Some of the orange gas I drained out

thanks for checking in kornhuskerwizard. Im a bit frustrated it has taken me so long to get this thing in the shop and start this, I should have just drained the gas while it was sitting outside and added the vivger then. I might actually have had it running again by now. the interior revivale is going well, so far Im really happy with the results. maybe soon I will have both my runners RUNNING at the same time and I can pick which one I want to drive instead of them decideing for me lol.

Your runner might not know what to think when it gets some clean fuel in her stomach. Looking forward to seeing your dash put back together and how the tires look on her. From the previous picture it gives it a whole new personality.

Well terry that makes 2 of us buddy.

I got most of the dash painted and reassembled, also spent a little time working on the cigarette lighter working at least now I can charge my phone. I have to finish up my sterio install before the rest of the dash can go together and I will have that finished up soon.

Terry and I did some tire swapping awhile back I traded him a set of 31/10.5 for his 31/10.5 mud terrains, finally got them mounted up. I don't intend to wheel this truck but I really like the more aggressive stance.
