Thanks cyberhorn, I like the way the marker lights and tail lights look but they are a lot darker than I had planed. I'm really anxious to get the top done so I can see what it looks like with the finished body.

Jason, what an INCREDIBLE transformation! I'm so .... well, I wanna say "PROUD OF YA!" hahaha.. but that's not the right word, .... "IMPRESSED" by your work/skills of restoration.
I think the word I'm looking for, actually, is "STOKED" FOR YA! lol...
I just remembered, that rust free nearly pristine fender on there in that shot... YEP, that's from CALI-PICK-YOUR-PART too!
hehehe...
BTW, I'd totally forgotten about the $.... But thanks
lol. Glad that all worked out! Terry's right, the black accents REALLY POP!!! You leaving the tail lights blacked out? Not dissing it, ... curious only.
L8r t8r, .... hope you and the sassy sissy are doing great!

Thanks mark I appreciate the kind words. I'm mentioning this not as a complaint but as a heads up to others, the fender I got from you had a little rust on it, rite under the wheel well molding. I bring it because if they can cause rust in Cal just imagine what they do in other parts of the country that's why I ditched that molding all the way around and would recommend any body in a rust prone area do the same. They black fenders I bought awhile back were ruined because of that molding and it also hid the bad spots when I first looked at them. Just throwing that out there because the fender I got from you was still in great shape. The tail lights hmmm I have never cared for blacked out lenses and that's honestly not the look I was going for I just wanted to darken them up because they were faded, but dang I really like how they look on there lol, I'm gonna leave them for now because they are all I have if I decided or the law decided for me I will change out for new ones.

Do a paint shop with them stock? At least then you could decide. And btw... I'M SORRY, man... didn't know that! I bet mine are orange cottage cheese under there, cuz I KNOW they are on the rear on mine.... Well, just one lil spot toward the rear. BUT WOW.... now that I think about it...i think that traveled up and causes some adjoining rust with the stuff inside the rear panel body seam/bead.
BTW...... when looking toward the front, down the panel, behind that back seat/front most panel? I could see light RIGHT THROUGH the seam to the front seat area... it's really just a sort of crimp there, isn't it? I guess they knew this stuff would ROT! lol. Why wouldn't they just slather on a MAD COATING of that stuff they put under our seats????? it could have stopped a lot of bed rot... etc. Oh well, .... anything to save a buck, even from Yota! lol.

Personally, I think the OEM taillights with Black Trim around them would be the ticket
But yes, work with whatcha got.... Just hate to see you get a JERK cop that throws something at you that sticks! NO TICKETS, MAN! Effects your living... and I know they're JERKS about that over here. BIG tickets. And they're not like parking tickets... they're moving violations
But yeah, .... they look pretty cool, hahaa. Still like the colors better...> just personally.

Got a lot more done today. Top is wet sanded and recleared, I also got a bunch done on the tailgate, lined it up properly installed the back glass installed the weather strip installed the cables and release handle so other than trim its about buttoned up. I also started on my rear bumper I decided since I had already started one I would go ahead and use it. I really don't like the looks of it bbbuuuuutttt it was here metals expensive and I don't have a factory one so it will work for now.

Not the best pic but you get idea. Hope to have time tomorrow to paint the trim on the top, I will just have to see how time goes.

I, vote #3, do by declare by popular general consensus that thee must painteth it BLACK... and call it "Black Bettie"........Can I getta "Bam-ba-lam", good sir?!?!?!?!
No, seriously.... that is GREAT LOOKING, ..and I know around 3 different guys who would pay for it right now for their pick ups. NO JOKE! Looks VERY similar to that Scout at R-Creek PU bumper that guy made.... And you have 3 hooks, 1 more than him! hehehe. Can you bring it up a couple inches? It can run even with the top of that taper on the gate, Jason, IIRC.

Well black it shall be then, as far as moving it up some I can't move it to much because of the way the tail gate swings at the bottom its hard to keep the frame brackets out of the way. The brackets are not welded solid yet so with a new day it may bring a new look at how to do it but it will probably have to stay the way it is.

Wow, that rig is really coming together. The contrasting black is really cool, and I agree with Mark - Black!
Hey, if you put some rally stripes on the hood you could kinda make a transformer "Bumblebee" rig!! Guaranteed the kids in the neighborhood would stare and point at you while you're driving around.
