my w56 sensor fit. i had to put it on before the "mount" went on. i did have to clearance the rear mount to fit in the tunnel (pics later), but the stock crossmember and mount fits the front crawl-box with no modifications.

this was "halftime" before i got the r151f in.

X2!! I'm excited to see how the new tranny fits into the old location.

it fits by the skin of my teeth and a bit of hammering. i still have to clearance the tranny tunnel to fit, but it's snug where it is.

now for a few "after" pics from this morning. i was headed out the door, so i used my phone camera...

here you can see how close it is. i had to notch out the top right corner of the rear mount

front drive shaft to crossmember clearance looks tight, but i don't mind cutting it up to gain some wiggle room

i was able to use the w56 reverse sensor on the r151f with no issues. also, i thought this was interesting, the drain plug on the r151 is on the side, not facing down. huh.

the short shifter kit presses up into the floor a bit in the front. gonna hafta trim that out a little.

interior is a mess, but you can see the shifter in place, in 4th gear. plenty of room for levers underneath and to the sides. i can also change the angle if i need to.

and my set of knobs, yet to be cleaned up and relabeled

Wow, exciting! Will you need a custom boot/cover kit? You said 'It's risen", which I can see in that pic... Curious what you're planning.
Looks SOLID! Could the trans shift a lil bit with torque and play drums on the under chassis up front?

kind of. the front half will be stock. the back half will have the standard 3-lever boot supplied with normal tripple-stick kits

yeah, just the transmission shifter base is up about an inch because of the short-shifter kit. that's the only thing touching the trans tunnel

...and when it does, i'll take out the hammer and "modify" the tunnel. i don't think it'll be an issue anywhere the old trans was. we'll see.

And I get that about owning the truck, back in the day(early '80's) I wheeled, modified and raced a truck that was years from being paid off.

Congrats on the paperwork-graduating and ownership.

Just wanted to thank you on posting the link (ages ago) for those U bolts. I took your advice and painted them, too.
