umm... i can run 2wd low, yes

not sure what you mean by 2wd in 4wd-low as all levers/functions can be operated independently

and i'm taking out the rear disconnect for now. i think it's the caues of my horrible vibrations, seeing as how they balanced the drive shaft.

I typed it wrong, (4WD-Lo) i think i went back and edited it, but you understood.
disconnecting the rear disconnect...haha.
Anyhow, hope your vibes go away. That is a pretty nice set-up you have now.
Oh, did you inspect your clutch while you had it torn down? You said before, you didn't like the way the ceramic clutch felt, as oppose to stock daily driving....curious.

i still don't like it, but the lower first gear helps a bunch. the trans has an odd feel to it. i'm guessing it's a combination of the short-shifter, ceramic clutch, and different gearing. the clutch seemed to be fine. the flywheel looked worn, but no major gouges or hot-spots. i'm just going to run it as-is, but keep an eye/ear on it (now that i have the r151f with the inspection plug, i can do both!)

So effectively you now have a 10 speed gearbox... nice as long as you don't have to use all 10 in city rush hour traffic... you'd need to be an octopus to run all the gears and drink your morning coffee on the way to work lol... and you'd also end up with an over developed left calf muscle...

If i just have a single transfer case and want to get the twin stick kit is it hard to install? Do you have to remove the t-case?

fixed my driveline vibration!!!!! wooo!

it turns out that the rear disconnect nut loosened since it could not be staked. anyway, took that off, added a triple-drilled flange and 1" spacer (to acount for the length of the disconnect), and there are no more vibes.

the wheel spacers are going on either sunday or next weekend, as i have housing to look at tomorrow, and the grinder makes a bit of noise at night

anyway, on to pictures of the driveline

the spacer from roger brown. damn it's a nice piece. he does great work, highly recomended

and finally some pictures of the modified collector. midas in alexandria (on duke street) did an awesome job. highly recommended

no more band clamps

and some random pics. here's the carnage from the last rausch creek trip

and 12.5x optical zoom from across the street. not bad... (also, a "before" shot for the wheel spacers)

What are the wheel spacers for, or I guess my question is why? Nevermind, missed the post about rubbing.

nope. and if i do, i don't think i'll have too much of an issue with taking it off. it passed inspection like that, too.

today's progress: front wheel spacers on before the rain

where it was rubbing

new nuts

new clearance. much better

Looking good, Ian! So I read that spacer mod was for clearance/rubbing problems? Interesting.

I can't remember, but did you do anything to increase travel in the rear? Just curious.

How's the trans? Bet it's sick! (Sorry you're not too crazy about that clutch... Did you say you plan to swap in a milder one? Again, can't remember, but know you mentioned it was a lil 'herky-jerky' for your taste, .......especially since adding the short shifting unit?)

Love those Gen's... looks really good man!

PS> Do you plan to have an extra set of tires? Bigger, etc.? Just for wheeling trips and such? I LIKE the stock look, and when careful, it can get you ALL up in there! lol... But I was just curious. Can't remember you saying anything about that.

Have a good one, Ian
