But if you need anything let me know....I have a bearing packer and the 54MM socket. I use Redline synthetic ....same stuff I use on my fishing reels.Forgot to post this yesterday....found a really cool TEQ bottle jack tool bag. It's used to hold the extension and handle portion in that 82' Supra.

Finally have an update for something I did to my truck! It's not really a bad thing though, cuz that means my truck is running well
Anyhow, finally replaced my front rotors, brake pads, inner/outer hub bearings, and re-built my manual hubs! I have a lot of pictures and thinking of doing a How To, but there are so many steps. If I hear there is a use for one I'll start working on it.
Some notable mention tools during the process is a bearing packer and bearing race driver kit from harbor freight. The kit was on sale for $29.99 and I also had a 20% coupon off of that. It sure made punching those bearing races in real easy.
Lisle bearing packer, made it real quick and easy. Notice the koyo bearing? If you look close you will see a part No. 90368 49084, that is the EXACT same part no. that Toyota uses for the bearing. So like I and others have mentioned on other threads/posts, purchase koyo bearings (if you want OEM equipment) from a regular online parts store rather that the dealer and you'll save yourself a lot of money!

The inner bearing race uses the 81mm from the kit

The outer bearing uses the 72mm

Done! if anyone needs a write up let me know

Also stopped by the yard this morning and found an extra set of Aisin manual hubs for spares.

And some pics from a recent trip kayak fishing the Owens River in the bishop area. One of the photos came out so well that the kayak company that loaned us the kayaks to test out used it on their website
I'm in the 3rd photo that flashes through, wearing the yellow vest. http://www.feelfreekayak.com/home/ Not my choice for ocean fishing, but it was a nice little yak to manuever down the narrow river.
A little brown trout

What ya think? Original isn't it?? hahahhha
Working with a girl at work who's taking sewing classes and does stuff on the side. Just the top so far, going to come up with a better anchoring system than the factory can-back did and use some black rope.

You are right about using the factory bearings and they are available at a much better price. Sometimes just got to do a little shopping around. I try and put the part number into ebay and have some luck with that every once in awhile. I am trying to assemble a list of different suppliers.
If I recall right, Denso plug wires are $83 at the dealer and I get mine off of ebay for $25ish or so. The parts stores top brands are more expensive and not nearly as well built. Just got to be on the hunt for other areas for parts.
I am so ready to do some fishing myself and the top is looking great.

Hey Grego, i remember a while back you said you were looking for a 4runner.
Not too sure what your price range is, but i found this one already SAS'd and a ton of upgrades. It's really clean. For the price on everything he's done to it its a really good price. id buy it but no money to buy.

Thanks for stopping by Terry! maybe if we plan a trip somewhere you can make it over this way to fish the sierras!
Richard, thanks for the heads up. There's nothing left to do to that thing! no fun! I've seen some recently on craigslist that I've been eyeing, but not ready to pull the trigger just yet. Gotta get the wife her new Honda CR-V first.
Toyo....that's a cool pattern! but too "techno" for me....

I was looking at that SAS..... just made a promise not to go 'salvage' on anything.... But I might have to go for it one day. Just the resale factor, and "what REALLY happened to it to go into 'salvage' status?" Lol. Sent a few ppl that link,.....and it ISSSS nice!
Hope to meet ya in the Sierras one of these days!

I told him this one would definitely be worth buying since it has all the upgrades and he doesn't have time to work on it. So that'd be perfect for him.
Hey Grego I read you were planning to downsize your tires. Are you planning to keep your current tires for off road use or are u planning to sell them?

Richard! I missed your last post! F'man...I would've given you those things! Actually, I don't think I would cuz I wouldn't want that burden of guilt. They had a lot of tread but were 8 years and 6 weeks old from mfg. date, cracking, and lopsided. Three of the tires needed weights covering about 1/4 the diameter of the tire and 1 needed nearly half the diameter filled with weights....AND they still weren't fully balanced. Just as a joke I asked the guy at America's Tire if they wanted to buy them, he got really wide-eyed
and said "I wouldn't touch those with a 10ft. pole! that's just a liability waiting to happen! The mfg. date alone would prevent him from buying and installing them on someone's truck. In the past they've given me like $12 for a couple of my used tires because they sell them to people who just want something to last a few more months until they replace them all.
So here's my new tire, just put on yesterday. Michellin LTX AT2's - P235-75-15, they're a light truck on/off road tire. Perfect for my needs of mostly highway and the occasional dirt road and semi-wet sand. I really like them. Extremely quieter and smoother than my previous, but that's not saying much I guess!

And here is my new 3/8" camo rope and rope clamps. These work great!

I got the 19.95 3/8" camo rope combo pack. The 10Ft. pieces were exactly what I measured to need for each side. I saw some figure 8 type clamps at HF today but they were $8 each. $25 delivered to my door was just in my price range!
