Shasta was gourgous. That was the first time in forever I have seen the lake full. I want to go back as well. I think tahoe and the rubicon next time too. Not that far away. The wife was thinking ski boat and some boards. Maybe we can meet in the middle.

Hey Dunkin,....don't have the time to read back to extensively, as I'm apparently having to yoink my trans/t-case now for a rebuild.....shortly after the new motor went in! lol(Hey, at least I got a vacation in first, right? hahah).... Anyway, I'll catch up and look forward to it as a matter of fact... Love that rig, and GREAT pic of Shasta! Always hate leaving the Sierras when I head home from there back to L.A...... but life goes on, eh?
She's running great, I take it? (Curious if you have AC in that sucker??....sorry for the tangent, just read a lot of swaps like yours having trouble with that, making it fit, etc.)..
Take care, SWEET RIG!

Still loving the swap, and still averaging 22 mpg on the highway. I bet I can do better once I swap over to 4.30's or 4.10's.
Passing is a breeze, especially winding out third gear to damn near 90 mph. I don't have anything to tow... yet
I have gone over Steven Pass (Hwy 2) from Monroe to Lake Chelan both before and after the swap. With the 22RE and the auto, I was forced into 2nd gear to maintain 30-35 mph to climb the pass. After the swap, I was able to climb the pass at 70 mph in 5th gear with no issues at less than half throttle.

You know what? Screw the SAS, I'm putting this swap on the top of my list IF I EVER can afford it! lol. Think I'll run my 22reeeeeeeeek into the ground, first, eh? lol. I can do that in no time! lol.

I ended up selling my 2.5RS coupe today, and am now putting all of my faith into the Runner as a daily driver. Good thing I only travel 10 miles a day to work and back.
This has freed up quite a bit of play money, and I now have a shopping cart totaling $3300.00 on DatinFab. I'm itching to pull the trigger, and find a nice complete front axle on Craigslist to clean up.
I'm curious, since this truck is my first and I've only wheeled in it a few times, what do you guys with SAS's think of your trucks on the pavement? One of my fears is that I might ruin how nice this thing is on the street for the sas and rear leaf conversion. (plus bumpers, winch, rear diff and locker, etc)
I would be going 1" taller and getting 33x12.5's to replace the 265/75-16's too.

Hey Dunkin, ....
Just curious.... SAS, .... from what I remember asking RMA about this all..... I thought he said, "You have to use a different oil pan with IFS"... Not that this would be even a TEENY issue after all you've tackled and all you're LOOKING TO BE tackling with SAS, lol... but just thought I'd ask that real quick.
Far as comfort... Meh, ..... are the roads where you drive back and forth really hamburgered? If not, I don't think you'll MISS it as much as you'll LOVE the new 'articulation' , eh? lol. But yes, it's a lil rougher in the 'Washboard' type stuff, etc. Also really depends on how you set it up. Some go really tall, REALLY stiff, etc. Just keep asking around and you'll get all the info you need. MAN, this thing might be even MORE SICK? You son of a dunkin donut you! hehehe. JK, not jealous, ...very stoked for ya! Congratz on the sale, too!

Sorry for the bad quality, they are kinda hard to see back there. But this should give you an idea of what I did.

Also, thanks for the input on the SAS guys. Sound like I won't be that bothered by it if I go with a soft enough spring. Now, to mull over the idea of dropping some Tesas$ on the truck.

Hey dunkin did you put ur sti pump in urs. I think I'm having a fuel issue. It will fall on its face under load and if you rev it up it drops off. Unless you unhook the regulator and pinch off the return.

Hmmmm I don't know. It ran a little better with ate tranny stuff plugged in. But still falls on its face. I'm wondering if the obd2 ones run more. I'm lookin at a 255lph pump from ls engineering. I was tryin to look through RMAs thread as I think he had the pump specs on there but its bead time I gotta work early tomarrow.

Do you have your OBD II connector wired in? I'd think a quick look at the data while driving would show your problem.
I don't need to tell you, since you already know, I'm sure. But, I would look at the MAF Gm/S and the ignition timing while on a test drive and verify that they are reading correctly. Also, grab your fuel pressure tester, and hang the gauge under your driver wiper for the test drive. That should identify your problem area.
I didnt play with the OBD II 1UZ, so I don't know what wiring/software changes were done.

Yeah i have run it in my bay with my solus. I wish it refreshed a little faster though. I can't really drive it to much as I'm still waiting for the funds to get a fan. That was gonna be my first check after I coups drive it on the road was a fuel pressure gushed am read data. I'm also looking into a taco maf coz no one makes a intake for the 4.0 and I haven't looked into making one just yet. Or if if I can figure out the pinouts for a sti maf as they are both made my Denso and may pit the same signal out. And I just happen to have one off of a 05 laying around.

Thanks for the pics. What did you do for the return line. I have thought about cutting the steel portion over on the passanger side and just putting the factory rubber line into it there. Any thoughts?

I got an intake for mine. I found one made by Injen. http://www.gripmotorsports.com/pi~pn...stem-1735.html

No, I haven't installed the new ECM or the second diag connector that I got from RMA yet. I'll probably mess with it this week since the car sold and I no longer have two projects. But, other than a random stalling issue, the truck has been running perfectly. I even took it on a 200+ mile drive yesterday around the Puget Sound, around Hood Canal and back across the Bainbridge Island Ferry. Still got 22 mpg.
The return fuel line? I just used bulk hose and ran it from the drivers side over to the return pipe on the inner passenger fender.

I did, since the original was a bit on the fubared side.
This is not a bolt on, since the 92+ has a different core support than the 90-91's (or 89-91 for the pickups)
I just "modified" everything to fit for now.
It just took a bit of massaging (read, big ass hammer).Eventually, if I end up fixing this body, it will get a 92' core support. That is, unless I find a beautiful, perfect, black on grey 2 door in the future.

I sold my 265's to my uncle and got some 285's from Tire Rack yesterday, then mounted and balanced them last night. The good thing is that I sold the old ones for what I paid for them, so the upgrade didn't cost me a dime!
Looks like I have a bit of trimming to do on the front bumper now until I can afford a Trail Gear bumper, or some ARB's if I win the lottery. Haha

Turrible pictures are turrible.
The synchro for 2nd gear has failed in the transmission that I bought, so now I get to source and instal another one. Good thing I can remove that leaking rear main seal and install one from the dealer when I do it.
