practice with the enclosed piece of vinyl in the kit i didnt an my side panel shows it but as i get more proficient with it the roll bar pad cover the repairs are nearly invisible to the uninformed eye
well the west coast dock strikes finally have stopped effecting my parts my greaseable shackles shipped out today woot!
talked to papawheelie he had to buy some disks an blades to continue cutting his rolled runner to get my side steel and then like us here were taking care of yard clean up after a hard winter
in our case just trash an junk with tumbleweeds we filled a 30 yd dumspster! with trash old junk old mattress carpet padding ect ect
Hope to see your side panels on soon. Been doing alot of spring cleaning my self. Misty is already talking about me tilling up a garden.
ill have to grind the old side clean to bare metal around where gona put the new on and see where im going to trim both to line up so the new fits in the original side ill have to strip out the interior panels speakers carpet so cutting grinding an welding dont damage them roll bar as well might have to come out so can work in there
gotta get our tiller out as well bull dozer too LOL
*** note to self ***need to get by lowes or home despot an get the self stick foam foil insulation stuff mine has what mark used but not the press an seal that terry uses
annnnticipaaa'tion is making me wait... the old ketchup commercial song went LOL
waiting i made something needing to do SOMETHING i tool a shirt that never quite fit heavy duty cotton that my dads 5th wife with her computerized embroidery machine made the logo on an my name into a steering wheel cover for summer which it an the arm rest get flat freaking skin frying HOT
though not a green dragon by any means his blue eye is all me LOL
i just cant believe it after 2 order cancellations being back ordered and the dock worker strikes on the west coast 3.5 months after i got the bushings i finally get my box with my shackle...wait
shackle? err supposed to be 2 paid for 2 site said 2 box only has 1
called andy's autosport politely an with thin humor reported the problem the pictures you get to see are the ones i took for them
Embrodery turned out well. You just aren having any luck with the shipping your parts. I feel your frustration. That is the bad part on oredering things online. I have lately been getting the wrong parts. Only happens twice but still it is frustrating.

she was really good with her machine after a few months of my dads death she remarried an stopped talking to me the shirt was xl an i wear xxl so it never fit right so make it into something i can use finally
and today the second shackle reported for duty whoohooo but its too windy an cold right now to do anything on her
the 2K durango of kris is in the shop with issues A arm came loose an i dont have to tell ya how bad that can go shes also getting a power steering pump PITA! aggh my smaller hands an arms than kris i was finally able to get the hose back on the pump after some major fighting (low side no pressure) and the stupid engineers made it so to work on the blower motor you have to remove the entire dash and empty the freeon which it an its resistor are at fault for no fan at all
I seen a Durango with a catastrrophic ball joint failure not long ago. Just seem like some of the Dodges are a real pain in the rear to work on. Hope the weather gets better for you soon. Looking better later this week for us.
Are they stock length between bolt holes ? Are the plates like 3/16". I looked all over for something like these and gave up.
now just eyeballing them next to the originals they look DANG close same length shape ect but also remember mine are badly damaged by corrosion this is one of the two factory bolts in one shackle
one of the bolts from my shackles it fell out of the side plate should have been a press fit
well kiddo decided to get herself banned from the bus for the week so all plans to work on the runner on hold just in case something breaks an takes a day to find bolt or whatever since im the bus again...sigh
so i bought a huge box of random sockets extensions an such the metric bag weighs in at like 8Lbs it cost more to ship the box than the tools did lol but i now finally have deep well metrics an a full set for once
so since cant work on truck working on tools cleaning them up as some are pretty nasty (rust grime glue paint) and organizing my collection gave the old box a coat of paint as it was rusting an flaking paint drawers hard to open ect ect the box is 30+ yrs old as are a lot of the tools in it
plastic bag is full of metric sockets over 8lbs of them the std sockets are already mixed in with what i had previously
finally divided the area with a rail to keep my met an std sockets separated the added rail to the lid for the extensions an such me being OCD added the marine vinyl to the bottom to help tidy it up and its tough stuff going on my door pockets ... future post preview
just some of the stuff im cleaning up rust grime glue or who knows what makes it hard to identify the sockets an im gettin old
dirty socket on driver in drill
oiled scotchbright 1000 an 220 sand paper only using the sand paper if socket is really bad the 1000 actually makes them readable the scotchbright shines them up an applies some oil to them
same socket after a quick spin around inside the scotchbright ah a 7/16 goes in with several others lol
plan is to eventually have a jerrycan toolbox in the back of my runner (ive got enough extra sockets now to start one) seen them elsewhere an love the idea paint water only on it or something its lockable and strapped in to a jerry can holder in the back water on it likely most wouldnt give it a second glance through the window of my rig
Kids give you something to do. Luckily mine can walk to school or I am sure I would get to do the same thing.
Having deep well impact sockets come in handy. I bought mine from a pawn shop and did have to replace the 17m with a Craftmans six point regular socket. That is how I have accumilated alot of my tools. Also check yard sales or anyplace that may have a broken Craftmans or other tools that have a lifetime replacement.
Getting old is for the birds. I miss having my eyesight. I need to come up with a color pattern for certain tools as reading the print on them is getting difficult.
That is a great idea for a jerry can tool box. Never would of thought of that. Labeling it with Water on it whould help.
I love those Nato can tool boxes. The way those cans are coveted by off roaders I think they are not much of a decoy though. Thieves will go after the gas can and get a pleasant surprise (your tools).
You might could get a label maker and put large print on your sockets. My kid can't understand why I always have to have sockets turned with the numbers up so I can read them at a glance.
Have you been to GarageJournal.com ? There is a tool section and a lot of info on derusting. You seem to have done a great job though. I had to soak a lot of tools in vinegar and clean them up after Hurricane Irene trashed my garage. It gets old fast.

its compact an made of 14 gauge steel as well
i dont have any 1/2 in drive as of yet but when i do likely will be impact rated not the chrome avg sockets i used to have a full complement of electronics tools as well
a kit i carried with me to job sites in a backpack via carry on to go climb under some hundred thousand gallon jug of liquid to fix the valve under it lol

them ammo boxes go walking around here a lot faster than water cans (which is why i was gona paint water only on the can) though i do like them ammo cans used one to hold up a chevy truck while i worked on the fuel pump lol they go for a minimum of 45 for a small one here
i think it was a flood in new caney tx that started the rust on my toolbox over 30 yrs ago lol i took all of my tools an a thing of used oil an put it on a camp fire in a bent pot cooked them all water free hate fireants all night they messed with me
tried labels but they get wet or peel off some sockets i just need to just get a diamond bit an the dremel an re'do the stamped on numbers though i do want to make a pair of labels to put on the tool box saying met an std so till my brain reaches for the right side i have a visual to remind me metric is on the left lol
ok one final of the tools an box i went into twin an got a full set 8mm - 28mm some locking pliers wire cutters got an incredible deal on the wrenches as lol they messed up i caught it an they gave me an extra 20% off the sale price an discounted price so 28 for the set to 12 they arent pictured the smaller box of sockets is a duplicate box of them
and more to come i got the rear greaseable shackles in an what a fight it was PITA! uggggggh!
