Picked up a 91 upper manifold. Apparently they flow slightly better because it doesn't bend. Probably not noticeable, but I'm cleaning it up, gonna bore out the hole to 60mm and use a 5mge TB with it. Then it'll go in. The mods never end!!!

So I'm not Mr. Mechanic, but I'm pretty sure that my pcv valve and grommet should not be barely holding on to the valve cover. A baby could pull it out no problem. I was researching the pcv and most people seem to have a real hard time removing it. I would replace it after work, but it looks like another 17 hour day. FML. Have u guys dealt with a loose pcv?

Sorry about the long work days buddy. Hang in there.

Yes I have dealt with that. The grommet sometimes gets all crusty and hard from the years of heat. And then no longer wants to secure the PCV valve in the VC. I have gone to auto parts stores an looked in their help parts sections for a grommet that looks similar and swap it in there with a new PCV valve

Thnx. I asked my machinist guy at work if he could bore the manifold to 60mm and he said he didnt have the right tool to do it right. Or he didnt wanna help me out. So either I'll buy a dremel and go at it, or just get a junkyard late model 22re TB instead of the 5mge TB. Possibly have maxbore work on the 22re tb at a later date. Idk. Either way I wanna get this mani painted and on asap! Its gonna look awesome!! I'm kind of getting into this engine bay improvement thing. I think I'm gonna paint the bay flat black cuz it looks terrible as is. Cover up everything real good and spray away. Do u need the paper gaskets when connecting the manifolds or will rtv work??

Haha wow... when I swapped out the pcv the jackass b4 me had it turned around the opposite way. The fat end faces downward. No wonder it was loose. What a cheese. SMH.

Looking bada$$.

You need the gaskets rather than just Rtv. Sometimes I spread a very very fine layer of Rtv on before I put the gasket on.

Only problem with that is you can guarantee that the gasket will be destroyed anytime you take it back off.

Amazing! I wasn't looking forward to paying $150 + at least for another set. LCE wants 400 something! I will def snag one from you Giz. That'd be great.

I met a dude at the dmv a few weeks ago with a totally pimped out pickup with lots of custom fab work, custom aluminum panel bed... its sick. I think it sits on 37" iroks. But I gave him some beer and 20 bux for it. My kinda transaction.
