Truck looks good with the BFG's on it!! It's always nice being able to swap parts.

Don't worry about the WP bolts. They are in the timing cover. I would just get a new one anyhow. That's what I always do. I think it is 45$ through engnbldr.

How do those cylinders look? Have any cross hatching left?

Were the timing guides still in tact??

Sup y'all? Been a while! Well, my #4 chamber gets so much oil in it (oil even seeps out the plug hole) that the plug gunks up and starts failing. Which leads to the acceleration stutter I had issues with way back in the thread. It fealt good tho to have some 22re wisdom and know right away what was wrong and how to fix it. I went to change the plug out and the wire broke. So i got cheap napa wires because thats all they had in stock. I definitely feel like they suck. The fit is bad. My acceleration is slower. I'm going down to tuttle next weekend and am contemplating getting a higher quality wire for a better drive. So what wires do you guys swear by?

I like the NGK wires for these engines.

I wish I could go to tuttle with you. I am going to get some 3 point seat belts for the rear so I can put the car seats back there. Wife, boys and I are going to go camping sometime soon with it.

Thinking about getting one of those SUV tents that fit onto the back of the Runner.

I just bought a new rear pinion seal, and some oem toyota fittings to do a diff breather extension. Got a leak goin on back there and wanna handle it before tuttle. Man its gonna be fun Mark. We'll make it there sometime. Our boys will love it. Mines showin up in August. Can't wait til I got a lil helper in the garage.

I really need to get off my arse and drop off my head to be worked already.

So the previous owner wired up the rear speakers with this super small wire. The speakers would crackle loud when I tried to turn up the volume. I was hoping replacing the wire with 16 gauge would solve it and I could blast tunes down to tuttle next weekend. Also I got out the sledge hammer on that random bracket behind the driver seat so I could stuff the speaker box back there.

Its definitely awesome having helpers in the garage. I was Finally wiring up the rear speakers in m runner the other day and they were helping me out. Also playing around in the cockpit as well.

I will have more time in the next few weeks. I have to put 3 point seat belts in the rear of the runner so I can get car seats back there. I also would not mind getting a full length cage in there as well. Since the familia will be in there with me.

I hate fixing stuff from the previous owners.

Looks like that Sledge did a good job of gently manipulating that bracket to move out of the way.

Nice work on the builds!! I'm in Lincoln too, if I see ya around i'll talk to you and maybe we could share ideas. I broke a bolt on my water pump too so don't beat yourself up too bad. Be looking out for a white '90 pickup with a aluminum topper. Best of luck!

So I'm gonna vent here... I ordered my pinion seal from 4wheelparts on friday may 8th at 12:15pm. Ample time for shipping so I can install it before I leave friday after work for tuttle. I emailed them today because I never received a tracking #. A lady gave me one and said it should arrive friday the 15th. Friday!!? I would think they had time to ship on the 8th. Sheesh. So I'm disappointed. Hope its a quick process so I can get on the road!!

I would have thought 4wheelparts would be faster. I thought I needed to replace my pinion seal but my rear diff did not have a breather on it, therefore it was clogged. Stuck a tiny screw driver in it to clear it and ran a tube from that opening to the top of my frame and it never leaked again. Although, I do like how yours goes to the gas cap.

There happened to be a competition goin on Saturday. I wouldn't call it a crawling competition. These guys had at least 36" tires and were doing courses fast for time. Lotta cool rigs. Mostly jeeps and yotas. My buddy in his red ext cab got 2nd place. Saw a 1st gen break a birfield. It was pretty awesome. My friend I took down is now hooked and wants to buy a 4runner. Lol. I'm surprised I didnt break anything myself. Smacked my rear driveshaft on a rock ledge. Slid down to the 3rd and housing. Backed out and all was good. Phew! I need bigger tires.

Sounds like a great time! Wish I could have made it down there with you. Maybe next time over the summer when I will have more time.

So a long time friend of mine just bought his first truck. Unfortunately its not a toyota, but hey at least he's trying. He bought a black 2000 ford ranger. So it looks like I'll be going BACK to TUTTLE again this weekend. Haha, why not right? We're gonna see what that stock ranger can do. So I had to finally properly hook up my CB whip so we can communicate. Made a bracket for it.

Also gonna spray the inside of my tailgate with rustoleum bed liner. Its no durabak but its tougher than regular paint. I love tuttle cuz it always makes me do little improvements to the truck.

Trucks blowing the #8 "engine" fuse. So I guess I have a short somewhere. Used to only pop when I hit a big bump. The radio would turn off and on, then the #8 fuse would be toast. Now it just fries instantly. Battery has 12v but it won't start. I havent found any exposed wires, but the positive battery lead appears blackened. Any advice?

Spent alot of time, cleaned up the rear wiring birds nest. Found the short in the front tho behind the cd player. It was from those red LED lights I installed over 2 years ago. Just ripped it all out. Put a stock afm back on. All 3 Sr5 clusters I own have bad temp gauges. So I put my old one back in so I can keep an eye on temps this summer. When I was searching for shorts I also discovered an exhaust manifold bolt was holding on by a thread and another completely missing. So thats neat. But its back up and running good again!
