Thanks bro!

Well, I thought I had more wheeling pics but it appears we took more video than stills. So a video will be coming soon. Here's a few more pics from the weekend though.

It's a beautiful park especially as the leaves are changing. A lot of wildlife. Birds, deer, and every night a pack of coyotes would sing us to sleep. Having said all that.. I wanna go back!

Yah it was fun, it sux that pics n video don't do it justice tho. Goin up that ledge was intense! I can only imagine what I could get myself into with bigger tires, lower gears, and a front locker. November doesnt look probable for me. I've got alot goin on that month. But who knows. I'd even like to go snow wheeling there. Hafta bring the camper for that though. A heated home base.

In other news... since I passed on that runner I was lookin at I bought my TG winch plate. Should arrive in a week. Also, I plan on rebuilding that 22re in my mancave/workshop in the basement so I have some work to do there just getting the space ready. Work work work...

So instead of buying new I turned to craigslist and bought a 1000 pound engine stand for $30. Basically half price. Good thing too because the 4 bolts/washers to mount the engine set me back $25! Sheesh!

My dog had to inspect it for structural integrity.

Also pictured is my workspace. Just put a new top surface on it. Gonna add doors to the front. I wanted to tear into the engine tonight, but lacked the man power to lift it down into the basement. Oh well, I am slowly learning patience...

Thats a nice work area you have there. I just realized that I never looked to see what length my bolts were for you. Sorry about that. Was a crazy morning with my twins and it slipped my mind.

I have a really good machinist up here that is right by the school. He is the one that did my engine.

Good idea kelvin. I think I just picked it up and put it on a moving blanket the last time I moved one. But I like the Tote idea.

Forgot to comment on the video!! I love it. I also love deftones. I started listening to them in middle school when they hit the scene.

Also that song is headup.

Tuttle looks like a place I need to go!!!

So otw to work this morning when coming to a stop, out of gear, I heard a loud *clank clank clank* from around 10mph to 3ish mph. "Oh hellll nahhh" Its hard to hear where its coming from with my loud ass tires (lets be honest the entire truck is loud) so I was hoping it was just my locker being extra loud because water/mud got into the axle last weekend. So I drained it.

Oil was already dark dark green, and I just installed this diff idk 6 months ago? I can't remember. Anyways, replaced oil. Test drove. Same sound. Dang. I always try and listen to my truck and I think I'm used to what sounds it normally makes. Well, on the tuttle drive I started to notice that when I'd take it out of gear at speed a loud drone or rumble sound would occur, and that seemed new to me. But I could be paranoid too... I just hope changing my trans oil didnt screw something up. I read some people think that stirs up shavings/debri and can damage it more. I dont know anything about the truth of that. But it's dark and I'll investigate more tomorrow. On a positive note a buddy helped me move the project motor downstairs.

Tada! So I'm off to go play with it.

Sometimes my rear locker makes a racket.

My trans input shaft bearing makes noise like you described.
I also had to tighten the stake nut on my transfer case. The nut that holds the flange on where the driveshaft bolts to. Maybe check everything out.

Thanks for the input Mark. Drove it around a little more yesterday. It only clanks on deceleration in neutral. If I downshift into 1st and let it slow through where it normally clicks, it is quiet. Pointing me back to the locker. I'm thinking (hoping) it's my rear tires being too uneven in wear. And the Tuttle drive wore on em different making the locker disengage while moving straight in neutral. So hopefully today I can test each tire and put the closest pair in the back. Gotta price those battery powered impacts though. Swapping 4 tires with a regular jack and hand tools sucks!!!

Oh man, LOVE my new tools!!! Pulled each tire. Checked each one's diameter. Put 2 closest in the back. Buuuut, still clicking extra loud. I'll have someone coast it slowly so I can make sure the noise comes from the diff.

Good call on the u-joints guys.

If you need to replace them, we can press them out at the shop. Take no time at all.
