Thanks dude. I thought I'd catch some crap for my ghetto seal job. If I could sell my spare set of doors I could buy that winch plate, and get movin. Got a list of essential mods before the 18th tuttle trip tho.

How is that sealer holding up? I do not think I will be able to make it. Wife is leaving for training on the 19th. It might be close, but doubtful.

Bummer dude.

Hasn't really rained yet. So we'll see eventually. I think it'll do well.

Yeah it stinks. I was really looking forward to going. The wife was totally on board until I told her the date. She's headed to San Diego from the 19th -25th

I'm trying to get the truck ready for tuttle this weekend. Got the CB installed today.

Whip isn't on yet. I plan to mount it to my front bumper when I have one so for now I'm going to make a magnetic mount instead of buy one. That's tomorrow.

Hmmm... buy a $75 magnetic whip mount or make one for $0. Tough choice.

I guess light brown is ok, but #4 has some deposits on it. Guess that means oils burning? And how tight do u guys go on your valve cover bolts? I've had an oil leak ever since I replaced my gasket, moons and the PCV. I'm thinking that since the PCV used to be loose pressure was just being let out easier. Now that the PCV is on correctly maybe pressure is building up and leaking out the bottom of the valve cover because its not tight enough. Idk, just a thought. But I'm tired of this leak!

The light brown plugs are ok. Since they are cheap enough for these engines, I usually just replace them with nice new NGK's when I feel the need to take a look at them.

As far as the VC goes. I typically do not make it very tight. I have had more leak issues with it being tighter rather than just being snug. When I am tightening the bolts down on the VC, I do so in such a way that the rubber grommets are just starting to bubble out or get compressed. I also tend to put a little RTV on the seat of where the Half moon plugs go at either end of the head.

Man I am really bummed about not being able to go. I have considered trying to come down right after work on Friday and leaving Saturday evening, but its not going to be realistic for me since the wife is heading out of town Sunday morning. Maybe next time.

Funny, I put a NGK platinum in #4 cuz I broke the ceramic taking it out.

Yah I totally did that! Might have to re-do the rear seal though.
