Ok makes sense. Actually good to know. So its not size of afm it is the controls for it that allow more flow. Thanks

Well no, it is the size that allows more flow. The supra maf (or afm whatever) is larger with a 3" opening. Im using the same circuit board from my old 22re afm in the supra housing.

Over the weekend I started doing the battery and intake location swap. Still working on extending all the wires, but I'm super close to getting it done. It'll look way cleaner and hopefully be a bit more snappy with that new afm. I wanna get the 5mge throttle body, get that bored out a bit, and put that on too. Im starting to like doing HP mods!

I scour the yards for the supra AFM but they are always robbed by the time I get to them.

The battery/intake swap is something I really want to do in the future.

Where's the pics!!

From the research I've done so far it seems there are a few things that need to be modified. If it was easy everyone would do it. Im sure it ain't bad tho.

plz help

What do u guys have this wire hooked to? My guess is battery negative. It wasn't hooked up before I don't think. I found it under my battery stuffed down in there. I already have a wire coming from the box there that is connected to the batteries positive lead.

No, it comes out of the wiring just behind the box. Not from out of the box itself.

Juls you have that attached to your battery neg terminal? Heres an old pic of my battery. U can see it doesnt have any extras attached to the neg. Just 2 coming off of it going to body and block.

Super long story sorta short, I had to redo everything with the supra afm. Luckily I had my spare 22re afm to steal the circuit board to use. Turns out I wasnt careful enough the first time and screwed up the board. I found this legit write up today @ work that I unfortunately didn't find b4. Here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...705&styleid=53

So I recommend following that if you're gonna try it. I still have some tweaking to do with the afm wheel, but it runs, no codes. Took it around the block twice and I can feel the difference. Sounds cooler too. Worth the $? I just love modding my truck so it's worth it 4 me.

To hold the afm I welded up a little post it sets on.

And the shot of the battery intake swap + supra afm. New tubing and filter.
