I know the "just get it done" feeling! Only you got yours done, all of mine are still in progress, even from 8 years ago......

So glad I have my drill press! The caliper bolts were m10x1.25. This was my first time using a tap. It was pretty fun actually. Welded the pieces together after a fit test on the rotor.

Then I bolted it all on to make sure everything fit.

I just need to play around with some washers to shim it to perfection, spray some paint on it, and its done! The next one should be way easier. There's a poker run at tuttle creek orv next month I'd love to enter so I gotta button this thing up!!
Nice work Man!! I really need to find out if I can go to that Poker Run!!

So I was moving the brake hard line about to button up the passenger side disc swap and the line broke in half. I thought I was doomed. That putting a new fitting on it would be hard. But apparently a $10 flare tool and a few minutes is all you need.

So that was awesome. And I got the soft line on and rerouted the hardline to the front of the axle under the spring.

I put some more weld on the bracket in a few spots. Looks better I think. Before I was just moving the weld straight. This time I did circles. I still need more practice. The other caliper got rebuilt with new sleeves and bushings.

Brackets getting some paint and I tore apart the drivers drum brake so I can knock out that side next!

One side is done. Clears the 15" steel wheel no problem.

When I do the chevy 63 spring swap I think I'm going to have to go spring under axle (sua) because I don't want or need any more lift.

I think 9 inches is already too much gap. I don't see any other options than sua. I already have the springs. Obviously I'm aware it effects ground clearance. I guess my rig will be more unique then!

I think this weld on the drivers side bracket is much better.

So not only do you get brakes that are ten times easier to service but you shave a few pounds as well.

So one of the next projects is exhaust. I've got to go up and over the transfer case mount.

Im thinking the easiest way is a flex pipe like this one.

I've never used one. Apparently they leak eventually and everything I read is that its a temporary fix. Which might suit me fine for this upcoming trip or the entire summer who knows. I guess I'll just have to lobster back that piece when I find time. But it is an appealing quick option.

Woops cut something off there! Glad I didnt die from an exploding gas tank. I used a cutoff wheel and my sawzall too. So I was excited to bolt the driveshaft in and found this...

Bummer. I started looking at triple drilled flanges from trailgear and they run about $40-$50 shipped. And my budget is super tight until I sell some rims and tires I have laying around. Then I remembered I had a pile of transfer case parts from making the doubler in my basement.

The front output flange obviously goes to a cv and I measured it. It matches! So I'm going to try and swap them out. It should work. Fingers crossed.

^^^I did the same thing on my 86' after rotating the rear axel to fix the pinion/driveline angle and adding a front CV joint to the rear driveline. It worked out great and saved me some $$$!

Great work PAt! I had the same issues with the Truck the kids built at the school. I ended up mix and matching some driveshafts and slip yokes from different toyots trucks and 4runners and found the right combo. Also had to swap in a different rear flange.

I still ahve quite a few various DS parts laying around. You are welcome to come get what you need.

FYI.....Cell phone went Kaput.. Should have it up and running tomorrow night. Hopefully!!

I can pull a bracket off in a matter of minutes. Did you want to make a set?
