2nd gen...
Thanks man its come a long way. I know what you mean about the Herculiner. A lot of it has to do with the prep. work. Mine has like two small spots that sratched off but I'll just slap more on. I use it for gear mostly so it works great for me. It's protective and tough but yes a heavy metal object can sratch it off.

Not only that, but when I walked up, she had left it in neutral and her passenger door open... it rolled back and the door was resting on my door jam behind the door......WTH? LOL..... She finally came out and, I kid you not, the first thing out of her mouth was, "Who moved my car? Who went inside it? Did you move it?".... To which I explained, calmly as possible, ...."NO, ma'am, ... you left your door open and the parking brake OFF! It rolled back into mine, but there's no damage, so I left it there because I didn't wanna get inside of someone elses vehicle, door open or not!... You really need to be more careful....If my truck was not here, you could have rolled back and killed someone!" ..... By then she was shaking and felt really bad... So I calmed her down, but maintained, "Ma'am, seriously... if you've got some really heavy stuff going on in your life, you might want to abstain from driving for a while until you get it all resolved."... She took a deep breath, apologized and then drove off VERY SLOWLY! lol.

Another time, a lady backed over me, knocking me down... I hit her trunk with my hand, HARD, and told her, STOOOOOOOOOOOOOP! She went forward, then right out the other spot where there was no car in front of her, ... someone had to LITERALLY STAND IN FRONT OF HER to stop her. She screamed at him, he screamed back, "YOU HIT SOMEONE!".... NO KIDDING, again, ..>>>> She got out of the car, looked back, then said, "You idiooot, you walk behind me too close, FUUUUU*&"...THEN GOT IN AND TRIED TO DRIVE OFF! She was so belligerent that the Cops arrested her! hahaha.

Butttttttttttt, ... you know what they taught me in 18 years of Hap Ki Do?????? "PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES!" hahahaa... I guess that applies to being fully aware of what's around ya,,..but IT HAPPENS, ROCKER! Sorry to hear, man..... You gonna fix'her up?
Dude thats crazy! I hope you wern't hurt! about fixing it well....I'm debating on going to a body shop and having them repair both rear fenders and maybe removing the little lip that keeps cutting up my tires!....OR.....just doing my best at doing it myself sand down the rust spot paint it and cover it up with some Bushwacker flares.lol I would get the "Extend-a-Flare" model. I love the look of those flares and I would like to cover up those tires and stop the mud and rocks from hitting the truck!

As for the idler arm...Think I'm just going to get one from Auto Zone. I was at Jeff's(lofreqjeff) a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the idler arm from Auto Zone he showed me. I'm going to take that rediculous idler arm back to Napa with the original receipt and see what they can do for me if anything at all.

Junkyard Gold!

So while I was at the junkyard looking for a gas door (which I never found) I came across a 2nd Gen. with a stock roof rack. Took it home for 15 friggin dollars!!! A little sanding ....primer...paint...clear coat...and brand new! "Measure twice cut once" I made sure everything was exactly where I wanted it before drilling those holes because It was scary!lol Didn't wanna make any extra holes. For anyone who has not seen how Toyota had mounted the roof racks on these things...OMG LLLAAMMMEEE!! There like little itty bitty tiny rivets! I couldn't believe that...so I went and got some bigger better bolts washers and nuts. Got some big washers with more surface area to hold better on both top and bottom sides. Also used a sealant to waterproof the holes. What do you guys think? 15 BUCKS??

PIX

I'll get some better pics tomorrow.

Soo ahhhhhh we doing mine this weekend then right? Overall this project was pretty straight forward I would say the hardest part was pulling all the interior pieces off and headliner.

Well actually I'm no computer genius. Not even close! However I was able to restore the computer to an earlier date and that actually fixed the problem. Also installed some virus protection! My computer genius friend said that restoring may not have actually removed the trojan but it seems to be fine now? I did a few scans and all is well so lets hope it stays that way. Thanks for lookin out Chef! ....Sooooooo now I can finally post up those pix! also did a trail run with the guys in the AZ roll call thread witch was awesome! I'm glad the AZ crew gets together and goes out cause it is awesome fun!

Okay so a huge thank you to 808Nick for welding on my turn signal tabs! Just like all other people I've met from yotatech Nick is a great guy and willing to help out. Did a fantastic job and here is some proof! Also did a run with the local yotatechers.

PIX

Nick was even nice enough to throw me an old idler arm he had sitting around so got that stupid one off ! Think I'm going to order one from LC engineering.

More AZ Butcher Jones trail run pix here---- https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f66/...6/index34.html

Going to check out a Yakima load warrior listed for 160 on craigslist. So might be getting that on tonight and posted by tomorrow CAN'T WAIT! I've always wanted one

Thanks Z

np Nick yeah and maybe not in cold rain next time either lol

So here is the roof rack I got off Craigs list for $160.00 all I had to do was paint it and flip the Yakima sign. I'm going to get the extension for it and also locking mounts before I install it.

Here is a sneak peak at what it will look like.lol I threw it up there the night I brought it home just to see.

Also It came with this Yakima rack system with locking mounts+key (and un lockable original mounts) that I am selling LOCALLY.

PM if interested

Well the thing about that is IT DOESN'T FIT! What a bummer huh!? Because I used bigger mounting bolts on the stock roof rack the rails are no longer adjustable, soooooooooo in turn the Yakima Load Warrior is too short to mount up! The fix = Yakima Load Warrior extension. The problem = The Yakima Load Warrior is $129.00 and well I may be spending a grip of money on another yota soon! Explained in the next post

Ya know I did noticed that the tires didn't rub as much in rear stuff mode. Maybe because the km2's are formed a little more round then the km1's that where previously getting torn up on the rear fender. I have not changed anything but the tire, so maybe your right?....But then again I don't think I hit full "stuff mode" that last time out.

(Copyright:"Stuff Mode" term???? HAHAHAHAHA)

btw...I'm waiting to see the pics of the new rig...if all went well with the sale?...Soooo did it??? Are you a proud new owner or what!!??
