So I had Glideraz come out and install a new windshield. Did an awesome job and what better way to get a new windshield then having a Yotatecher do the install. Got rid of that chrome gasket and got a black one

----------------------------------------

Also went out for a little run with TRDevelopment to make sure all is well with his "new to him" rig. He had a little prob. locking his front hubs in L4 but H4 seemed to work fine. Hopefully have that resolved soon. Here is some pics....more to come and maybe a short video.

D's first obsticle!! lol

Careful placement of a few rocks goes a long way! He didn't have a problem with much....and that's open diff.! I likey!

and to end the day the Bears win!

-------------------------------------------

WORK IS SO FAAAARRR NOWWW!

I think what I'm going to end up doing is buy a 2wd pick up. Cheap...better mpg...and less miles on the rig!! I have pretty much decided to use the saved up suspension money to buy the new work truck. Saw a pretty clean one on CL today for $1800...Going to look at it 2marrow hopefully all goes well....price is a little high but......we'll see what happens.

I'm upset about not being able to spend on my baby lol but it's a pretty ridiculous drive....

If you don't mind be asking, I have the same cb that I will be installing on my rig. Does it get in the way of the shifter? and how did you mount it to the framework to keep it secure?

Yeah Im going to steal and post some more muahaha! lol

You lived in PHX? Thats interesting. Well it's a web of trails off of the 303 and Happy Valley Rd. I'm sure if we went far enough it would connect to lake pleasant but, it's pretty easy to get lost in there lol all kinds of trails that lead to all kinds of other trails. I love the area for that reason...something different everytime. Plus there's not much traffic out there....a truck here and there a few dirt bikes and atvs but not like Butcher Jones where there's a truck around every bush.

I don't mind you asking at all man that's what this is for!

I hate to disappoint dude but I actually didn't mount the CB to anything...all I did was cut the hole to fit the CB really tight. Then I used a rubber molding (the stuff that goes on door edges) to hold it even tighter. As far as it getting in the way of the shifter?...The only thing is the wire for the mic...It hits a little (1st gear only)but nothing annoying to me....It got better over time to. I think on like page 4 I posted some pics and stuff. I go wheeling quite often and it's pretty solid in there....hasn't budged since. I love it.

HAHA...D is my cousin actually although were more like brothers. He is TRDevelopment on here. The girl is his GF Mariam and their dog's name is Scooby(it's a Subaru thing not a cartoon thing).lol I can see why you would guess either one could be my sibling. I guess we kinda look alike cause we're all Assyrian...except my gf, who's name is Katie btw.

I know what you mean about the water splashing. I had that in mind the whole time don't worry (It's happened to me before!) I think it was a little harder for D to resist making that big splash being his first time out off road and all. I'm so proud of his 88....when we got our hands on that thing it was a pile!!! Took her apart and put her all back together... now look at her...purring like a kitten! Still a lot to be done. For example when we put it in L4 the front hubs wont lock....yet in H4 they do?? There is a Butcher Jones Yotatech Run this sunday but I'm not sure if D is willing to bring it out. I hope he does though haha!!!

19th ave and Dunlap?? Dang that's right down the St. lol I'm at 27th ave and Union......small world!

TRDevelopement troubles....

IIRC, 4L and 4H have their own vcv...someone correct me if I'm wrong. Remembering my 90 had the vcv's and wouldn't go into 4WD period, I determined that to be the issue. Call me or have your cousin call me...better yet, I'll put a link here for the write up with vacuum actuated fork in the front differential...again both hi and low have their own VCV, located on the passenger fender well....its the little round jobbers that have all those damn vacuum hoses going to em. Sounds like he might have routed them/ that one backward..?

Ok, here's the link to the thread....https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f129...er-mod-200971/

Hope this helps TRDevelopement out....by the way, I've run the Bridgestone Dueler (the originals, not the Revo's) on one of my other 4WD's before and I absolutely loved em'! Don't know why they stopped producing them...at least I can't find em anymore.

Thanks, Rocker....

Well, ..... let's just say you're both blessed! lol. Great lookin ladies

Yeah, I used to cruise back to both lakes and find all kinds of trouble to get in up there. My pops lived in Prescott at the time, so we had lots of fun up there, as well. Used to hit that Fuddruckers up on Dunlap..... and the 1$ theater as well! lol. Now it's a school(the theater on Glendale Ave.)

I had a great time in PHX and Surroundings... Hottest summer in 27 years when I moved there in 97! hahaha. 113*F at 3AM when I was done moving the last box in that year. I grew up in Needles during summers, too, as my Cousins lived there. Hit the River all the time! Bullhead Lake, too! Nothing like 125*F weather and 65*F Water combo to make it a true river rat experience, eh? hahaha.

Hey Ted,

That link you posted has some very good information in it however, I have an 88 so mine does not have the "ADD" like your 2nd gen did. On the bright side, we were kind of slow at my shop this morning, so I decided to pull my rig in and perform a service on the differentials, tranny, transfercase. Upon doing this I noticed when I did the shake down run last Sunday that the driver side axle inner shaft wasn't fully in the differential so I took my two big pry bars and put it back in. After finishing up the service I put it in 4lo and it seems to be working now . Looks like i'm going to have to bring my pile up to Butcher Jones this Sunday with you guys.

Thanks for the kind words Chef! Both me and Mariam (the gf) are kind of new to the whole offroading world. I thought she would be kind of scared at first but she seems to be enjoying just as much as I do. I guess that's always a plus.

Kind words indeed...Don't let the pics fool you they can both be a PITA!

Well next time if ever you plan a trip out here you should post up in the AZ roll call thread( https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f66/...6/index36.html ) and join in on a Yotatech run!! That would be friggin awesome man. I'm happy to see that our little AZ yotatech population is getting together more often and getting familiar with each other. It's good to have a nice sized group to go out with on the weekends. The kind of stuff the Yotatech is here for ya know!
