Adjusted the size and spacing of everything, then made one out of 1/8th" Aluminum.
Would like to incorporate this logo into my next set of door panels. Whether using it as a stencil to paint, or actually riveting one onto the panel, I haven't decided yet.
Started my brake job on the weekend. Here's the pins and springs I pulled out. Anti rattle spring was completely missing from the drivers side, and broken on the passenger side.
Here's my pads, as you can see, that first one was clearly not actuating properly, which is off the right(passenger side). Explains the pulling to the left(driver side) I was getting on hard braking. Other 3 pads are worn nice and evenly.
New calipers and pads installed, with Russell brand Speedbleeders. Will be replacing the rubber lines tonight. Rotors will get done in the new year. I know, I know, should be doing them right now as well, I just don't have the time/money at the moment.
Brake job complete, drove her to work this morning and the brakes feel pretty good! Especially compared to what they were. No more pulling, and more responsive then they've ever been since I've had her.
Next on the list is the new Steering Stabilizer I have, and to crack open the fill hole on the front diff to see if that's where my slight leak is coming, so I can run my 4wd through some paces before crappy weather hits. It doesn't smell like gear oil, but I'd like to confirm I have the proper amount in the diff before throwing it in 4wd anyway.
I'm also looking into ordering some Jeep TJ front springs to do my ZUK mod. It seems to be the cheapest option for me. Would like to order the Black Magic springs from Ebay or Amazon, but with shipping seems to be more than ordering some TJ springs through Rockauto.
Not much of an update. I did have time to remove my rear fender trim while the sun was out last weekend. Now to come up with a plan to repair! Let the research begin!
Finally had a chance to install my new Steering Stabilizer. I have been watching the fluid leak out of the old one for awhile, and my very slight steering wheel vibration at a certain highway speed has been getting worse at the same time. After doing some more research, I've read that it could be something more serious causing my vibration? Need to research more, but I didn't find any play in any other steering components while I was under there, and on the commute to work this morning, I did not feel the vibration as usual and my steering felt much stiffer and more uh.. stable I suppose. Upon removing the old stablilizer, it had very little resistance when compressing/decompressing it.
The troublesome bolt. I tried the ol' BFH method to start with.. didn't budge it, and even mushroomed the end of it slightly. Woops! Time to do some more research before wrecking anything else! Most write ups I found had the person successful with either a Pickle Fork/Ball Joint Seperator, or use a torch to heat it up, then apply the BFH. Found one post where a Pitman Arm Puller was suggested, and used successfully. Bought myself one of each! The Pitman Arm Puller was a little too bulky to get positioned properly, but the Pickle Fork Pickle Forked it right off! just a couple persuasions with the BFH and it popped right out.
This is how I positioned the Fork and was able to pop it off, looking from the front of the truck.
All cleaned up and ready for new hardware. Fitup. Installation complete.
Edit: Not sure why that 3rd picture won't show up properly, it seems to if you click on it. I'll try to fix it later.
Nice, I need to replace my steering stabilizer as well, thanks for the pictures. What stabilizer is that? OEM or is it Monroe or some other aftermarket?

That's a Monroe. It stiffened up my steering quite nicely, and eliminated the steering wheel wobble I was getting at a certain speed. I may need an alignment now though, I'm not sure. My steering wheel seems to ride a couple degrees off to one side while the truck is moving straight, so I need to look into that.

Glad I can help.
I don't know the quality of those panels, I didn't buy them and I don't know anybody who did, but maybe they're good.
i did buy one of those rear patch panels from Mill Supply but decided not to use it. I’d be happy to sell it to you. I bought and used the patch panel from Wolf Steel in Canada. Another option is using front fender pieces to repair rears.
Good info, thanks Melrose. I'll look into the Wolf panels, I'm in Canada so that would be convenient.
I'm hoping to have a different daily driver in the next month or so, then I can park the 4runner in the garage and do some more in depth repairs, and larger maintenance jobs.
Started an aluminum door panel today. Still not positive what I want the final version to look like... my garage is going to be full of mock up door panels soon!
