Outsane's 1984 4Runner Build Thread

Thanks terry trying to get at it..
toyotech: let me know if you have any other questions.. I'm fumbling through it all
update:
There are now wires every where... and it starts up for a second but will not idle.
I have vacuum hoses that are not hooked up to anything, even the hose to the brake booster is still open, so the next step is to check all the lines and get them situated. Hopefully that will get me to idle. Otherwise I'll be back to checking wires, I thought I had enough of it set up to run. The fuel pump is now wired to come on with the ignition. I also have spark by watching the timing gun hooked up.
To Do list
1. Bleed clutch line
2. Check all vacuum lines
3. Deal with a ton of wiring
4. Wire in check engine light
5. Wire in Speed signal, maybe?
6. plug up pair holes on exhaust side
7. Mount AFM
8. Replace fuel line hose clamps with fuel hose clamps

thanks. it will be a while before i look into the efi swap. some times i see people sell a complete efi swap but i not sure if i wanna do it lol. you need to get all you hoses hooked up correctly. lots of air leaks will not let it run

I got the glowshift one and it works ok. had some leaks so I had to tighten it down a couple times but does the trick. I've been looking for a 22RET thermostat housing for a LONG time to replace it with so I can use a "regular" upper radiator hose, but they are impossible to track down (they have 2 bungs for OEM and aftermarket senders).....
great work, Outsane!

oh, right. i guess that is why you first wrote....CEL doesn't turn off. Sorry i don't have any wisdom to shed on how to double check if the CEL is functioning correctly or hooked up wrong.
good luck

ECU came from the same guy as the rest of the stuff..
I picked up another ECU at the junk yard... I think the 84 is the only one with two plugs.. and the rest of the 22RE's have 3 plugs
