84maroonsolidaxle, I saw one of the pictures in the gallery with the rack and tent, and came here chasing it down. I have a couple questions about the rack:

What's the brand?

How much did it cost?

Where'd you find it?

The tent is pretty obvious as to the manufacturer .

I love the thought of putting something like that on and not losing the lock box (most of the racks I've seen have the connecting bars, or look too flimsy).

I got it off the Softtopper website. I think the brand is USA Truck Cap Racks. But can't remember exactly.

Are you going to do High steer on yours? Cant remember what you said.

I want to do high steer but I don't have a welder or access to a shop so no can do at the moment.

I'm thinking sometime after the new year that might change.

4runner stuck

Replaced some bad spark plug wires on my dad's runner and took it for a drive around the house. Running smooth!

Camping

Went out to Garner State Park and then to Lost Maples for a short camping trip.

Camper works pretty good for keeping out the 30* weather and rain. But it would be nice to have a sleeping platform and some insulation.

Super cheap and easy mod to delete stock turn signal housings

read up on my build thread page 1 for the bulb numbers and where to buy LEDs then on page 2 closer to the bottom on how to modify your stock turn signal relay to allow for LED turns

Harbor freight Christmas specials are here. They have an air compressor on sale for like $109 and a welder for I believe $150. For welding a brace for the IFS box, I'm not sure you'd need to spray arc it or anything. Then again steering does go through a lot of turmoil. Typing out loud here.

I love the bumper, bolted right up and really isn't too heavy.

Going to be cold camping this time of year!
But it's so worth it to get away

Seat Covers!!

My mom made me some awesome seat covers because she is the coolest.
We put the covers on and stuffed some new foam in between the cloth and old foam. I also took out a few pieces of metal that felt a little uncomfortable.
Installed and ready for sitting!

Making a console

I've seen some people using ammo cans for consoles and it seems like a great idea.
I don't have $250 to spend on an aftermarket console so ammo can looks like the way to go!

I'm thinking stack 2 short boxes or 1 taller longer box with a short platform underneath.

The short boxes are awesome because they

have hinges on 1 side and a latch on the other.

Downside to the long box is that it doesn't have a hinge. Latches on both sides so you have to take the whole top off to get inside. Obvious advantage is that it has more storage.

1 long box with a few 2x4s under it to get the right height.

2 short boxes, stacked.<br/>Pretty good height but it might be a little tall when I add the pad.

She did a great job on the seat covers. I can't imagine what they would cost from upholstery shop.

Are you going to paint the ammo cans? I'd go with a desert tan.

Thanks I love them!

Great idea on the color. I'm thinking desert tan bedliner spray.
