Snorkle for 79 hilux

Have any of you guys put a snorkel on the first gens? I have been searching the Internet looking for one but have had no luck. There is one place in Australia I believe that makes them. I don't think I'll will be going that route though cause the shipping is outrageous! Looks like I will be building one..... although I need a few ideas. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks GMACK!

That looks pretty simple! Where did you find the electrical box? Sweet looking truck by the way!

10-4 looks like I will be making a trip to lowes after I do a little figuring on my truck.

It's a weber.

I will put some on here but I don't think they come out clear from my iPhone. The paint is olive drab made by ppe. It's a true automotive paint. Real good stuff but a little pricey. Between the primer which is a single stage epoxy, the hardner for it and the color with hardner and a reducer was right at $350. I can say it was money well spent and the brush monster will have its work cut out trying to remove it. Aj Foyt automotive paint is where I got it from but I'm sure any automotive paint place can mix some up.

It won't let me post them. It keeps telling me I'm exceeding the size limit. Click on my profile and look at my photos. I have several posted there.

Wow that color really does look nice!

And check to make sure that the focus isn't locked on your phone camera. It should auto-focus if it is unlocked. Or if you have a case that has a thick lens over the camera the pics can turn out that way too.

Good luck with the snorkel!

Adapting a box to the Weber is fairly easy.. I traced the base of the air filter to the bottom of the box and cut it out. I used the base of the filter to hold the box down. (Put a couple washers between the box and the filter plate so you can get the clips on).
