81 saved from scrap yard
My sis was going to scrap her,but I got it running and drove her home. I cant fully describe the condition it was in. Dirty, smelly, leaky, dented, broken, and dangerous is just a start. But dang it is fun to drive ! So the last few months I have been doing all the little things to get it some what dependable. IE starter, filters, hoses, front bushings, cables, belts, etc... And sorry stock'ers but this truck is too far gone to bring it back to original condition. So I'm gonna do a small lift and tube bumpers. Having a hard time locating anything for this truck though. No lift kits or anything. So I guess I gotta make my own. (Not a problem). My Dodge Ram has been built up to chase in Baja and has done over 100 miles on the Baja 1000 race course the last 10 years. But I wont bore you with that.... One thing I do need to know is, does 4x4 fenders bolt right on to 2wd body ? Fiberglass fenders are too tall and wide. Also if anyone has ideas on lifts...? Right now I just plan on installing coil-overs on the front (no shock mounts through the hood) and add a leafs on the back. Dont even ask about the interior... Its bad. Trust me.. Looking forward to the build ! This truck cant pass anything but a gas station.
