Thought you might want to read this since you got your carb from them.

I never had a problem with mine, but I may get a new one just for the hell of it.

Got my bed sitting up on the bed dollie that I made last night. Fits really well and is really stable (I don't need that bed flopping off!). Now I can move it around the garage and between my various truck build locations - I primarily work on my truck in my Pop's garage (that's where my cab is now), I'm storing my bed and chassis in my cousins garage and all the other parts that I've either bought or taken off the truck are in my garage. It can be a pain in the ass at times having parts spread all over town, but I don't have enough space at any single location to fit it all and I don't want to be all cluttered while I work. Hopefully soon they will be all in one place and assembled! Anyway, here are the pics...

My sons seems to like the bed:

So you know how when you really need your friends' help for something they are nowhere to be found? Well that was the case for me today when I went to get the cab and bed mounted on the chassis for a quick mock up before I get too far with body work. So I'm flying solo again, which I'm getting really good at.

Loaded up the cab and hauled it across town:

Now for the crafty part. I installed six 1/2" eye bolts in the ceiling to correlate to the distance between body mounts of the cab. Attached some ratchet straps and started cranking. It worked amazingly well and flawless! Look, a levitating Toyota!

Rolled the chassis under the cab and lowered it down:

Then I just slide the bed off the bed dollie on to the chassis using a moving blanket. Here are some shots of the bed on in all its glory:

The body lines don't quite line up in the pictures because I didn't have the cab bushings seated properly nor bolted down completely, but they line up when I lift it level so it's just some alignment and adjustment matters. Have to set the body gap too, anybody out there have a measurement on the body gap between the cab and bed??

Your truck makes me smile thanks for sharing these pics and story
And I didn't measure mine before it came apart but if no one has the answer for you I will put cab and bed on this weekend and get a measurement for you since it still has all the wear marks it will be a cake to line up

That feeling when you work for so long on your truck, and then you see a glimpse of what it's gonna look like, oh what a feeling. Looking gooood the bed really make these trucks.

1"1/4 gap at the top of the bed rail. roughly an inch at the body lines near the bottom. at the very bottom 1"1/8. the cab starts curving at the bottom.

Thanks Old_Blue - I was figuring that it was around an inch or so, but I wanted to get some actual feedback before I drilled holes. It's kind of tough to line everything up perfectly straight on the chassis since everything has a curve to it or is slightly tweaked, but I'll get it right

I have Energy Suspension poly mounts for the cab already (bought the whole truck kit), but it didn't come with anything for the bed. I just messaged Corey to see if I even need any bushings between the bed and frame. I've never dealt with fiberglass like this so I don't exactly know what is acceptable, but I'll be sure to post the route I go.

Is the tailgate angled> It looks like the TOYOTA letters fall into the tailgate weirdly.

Also, looking GREAT! I can't decide if I like the body or engine more.. Both are xxpornxx worthy.

Ok, so my mysterious part source didn't turn out the way I had hoped, but I'm not completely let down. Last week I ordered a chrome grille and chrome headlight doors from a place that had old collision repair stock. There were no pictures of the parts on the website, but they listed everything with factory Toyota part numbers so I figured that it would be worth a shot to see if they were original Toyota new-old stock. Unfortunately they were not. Dave was right, Taiwan parts... The quality is pretty good though and since I can't find any good original chrome headlight doors it looks as though these are going to be what I am going with on my build until I find some good originals. Typically, the cheaper Taiwan parts have the wrong plugs for the corner lights, but these actually have the right round plugs. It ended up being a $27 gamble that somewhat paid off for the time being. Here's what they look like:

I took the afternoon off work today to get a few things done on my truck. I set the body gap between the bed. After a whole lot of measuring and a few shims, I drilled out the mounting holes and bolted it down.
