He's not the only one! Ha...really enjoyed seeing all of the details you've documented in your build. Awesome stuff!

I think the time has come I might be putting this up for sale. I've kinda outgrown the truck in the sense that I wheel it so little, and drive it so much as a DD that I'd like to get something a little more conducive to that purpose while still fulfilling the "off-roadability" of this truck...

It comes at a awkward time as the engine is getting broken in enough that I went into it for a valve adjustment (it's first) and noticed that the rear valve (intake) on the #3 cylinder was way to tight.. Put in the smallest shim Toyota makes, and it's still on the tight side.. Being I bought this head used (the original was junk) I had a local machine shop freshen up the head as documented earlier in this thread. Well, after speaking with them about the valve being too tight and not having enough shim when all the other valves are fine I learned that they made a mistake when cutting the seat and that particular valve got it's seat reamed out a little more than it should have.. So it needs a new seat installed in this head, or just another head put on it.. Truck runs great but it's not a smooth as it's been and feels just slightly down on power due to the reduced compression. Not a major deal, but a bummer..

These issues just mean if someone else wants to continue to build on this platform or fix it up and reap the rewards of this combo you're in luck.. You can have a ABSOLUTELY rust free frame and 99% rust free truck w/ a legit 3RZ swap for a reasonable amount! All top quality parts used in the build as documented here.

I'd entertain offers at $4500. Come get it quick before I change my mind!!

What? No way! I thought you'd never get rid of that one.

One of the nicer trucks out there. That being said you absolutely will regret selling it for the rest of your days. I can't count how many people stop me just to tell me they owned a toyota truck and wished they would have never sold it. Also your price is too low even with the valve issue. Good luck sir but you should keep it. Buy a little commuter truck or car if the daily driver part bothers you.

I flew out to Cali again to steal another Toyota from you Cali Kids! in fact, I picked up what has to be the worlds cleanest and low mileage '93 SR5 4Runner in existence! Funny enough I bought it less than a 10 minute drive from where I bought the 83.

'93 SR5, 3.0/5spd, 94,000 miles. Bone stock & cherry.

My eyes are bleeding.. 20 pages, only to find it's been sold. lol

I know this thread is old, but i wanted to know where the truck went, & if there was a new build thread for the Runner.?

*edit*
Found the Runner build thread, but still curious about the 83.
