no complaints so far...

so i saw these cool flush mounted 16w LED flood lights on ebay and thought they would be nice but I couldn't justify the $110 or so price for them, i had a bunch sitting in a drawer in the garage..

i got to thinking, i have a couple of DOA turn signals that I was about to toss and an empty slot on each side of my rear lights...so a little time with a dremel and other cutting tools yielded me this:

i will try to get a night shot after dark..
cutting up the old turn signals made it easy to mount in the existing rubber gasket but I may redo the mounting surface sometime and use some lexan or something..

Well, it's good to know that if you ever have both your headlights freakishly blow at the same time, you'll always be able to drive home at night...BACKWARDS! LOL Man, those things are bright - Creative little mod there!

You should also figure out how to wire a switch to them so if somebody is tailgating you or driving behind you with their highbeams on you can switch them on and blind the hell out of them!

i hadn't thought about driving backwards too far, with my back up camera i probably could

a switch is in the works, i need to wire a diode in to that circuit to keep current from back feeding into the back up light switch.
I have accumulated way too many lights, this pile is even after selling 3 sets last week.

some of these will be used as rock lights and supplementary lights. I really need to find my 130 amp GM alternator that is buried somewhere in my garage. i want to add some of the strip lights into the cage for interior lighting.
My wife is telling me it is cool that I get to work on my truck but some BS about neglecting house projects

Got lucky last night, some douche bag failed to get by some of my ways to stop a lowlife and all I ended up with was a trashed ignition.

I hope you smiled because there were cameras rolling..hope to pull some decent footage.

^^^ I think you said, someone tried to steel your rig?

that sucks, any thief should be hung(hanged?), just like they used to do to horse thieves, same thing!

Whoa! I'm glad they couldn't get past your traps, but man that boils my blood. I hope the video comes out clear.

Holy crap, I can't wait to see this video if it comes out clear! Maybe the dumbass Tweaker left prints as well. Sorry about the ignition.

Thanks for the offer

So it looks like the camera might be a bust, this happened at work, it looks like the camera range wasn't what I thought it was so needless to say I will be parking in the correct spot in the future.
Probably gonna do an alarm too. That would make #5 in the anti -theft arsenal. .

Just an idea, but I would do a basic alarm (shock, tilt, doors) and put a 130dB siren in the cab in addition to one under the hood. Unless the tweaker has ear protection handy, it's going to be painful trying to do anything in there.

Sorry he wasn't captured on film! My buddy used to have an alarm that was later made illegal, it warned the person breaking in that within 5 seconds if they remain inside the vehicle, it would cause permanent damage to the air drums. It was some insane siren in the cab. Of course, people like Barbara Boxer and otherwise quickly made them illegal because of the poor criminals rights to not have her hearing damaged. Ò.Ó.....

Hey buddy, I'm going to post on my thread regarding lockers. I wondered if you might try man. My Spartan is going crazy popping all the time, on straight aways and like two and three times in a couple seconds, etc. I love the same, it never lets me down off road, but I have an opportunity to get an ARB, with a v6 carrier, for really cheap. Only problem is, I immediately got lit up with warnings from a bunch of crawlers out here near me, on instagram, who adamantly dislike ARB lockers, and who may have all kinds of problems with them. I won't go on, I'll just bring it up on my thread. Just curious what you thought.
