Not everybody has spare axles to chop up so Using a press isn't much easier. Mine were a major PITA to get off! Pretty clever idea you came up with there. Who makes the t-case break that you're using? I'm probably going to go that route so I'd like to hear what you think of it once your're done.

The spare axle has also been around, after I picked up the IFS width rear axle is was just excess. I am going to use the middle of the housing to make a third holder for diff work.

I think I got the bearing removal tool idea from a write up on 4x4wire.com

The Transfer case e-brake kit is from Sky's Off Road. They are now saying that as the pad wears to replace the entire unit but I found a reference in Pirate to a tractor pad kit that will work as a replacement part.

Someone sent me a message saying I screwed up by taking the bearing cups all the way off.. Trail Gear had their replacements half price awhile ago..I also have bearing kits from Marlin to go on the axles.

Looks good. I had the same issue when I did my disc conversion, ended up using an air chisel and careful persuasion.

We did that for an event between some friends we do every year, about 300 miles round trip, 50 miles total of mountain roads, it costs 300$ of fuel total if I remember correctly. However only 3 trucks could fit on the trailer. We will be doing it again this year!

Been trying come up with a way to mount a sun visor on my cage. Saw a cage on ttora that was using a side by side visor. Thought what the heck I have most of that stuff around. I need to get some fine grit sand paper to clean up the cut edge..but figure not bad for a low buck project using mostly materials I already had..

Nice be careful what calipers you choose. The run out on the semi float axles can unload the caliper while braking. I think folks recommend floating calipers, not the kind like the front calipers on the IFS. Not sure if I remember correctly.

Don't forget to grind down the "nub" on those monte carlo calipers.

Decided to experiment with a roll cage mounted defroster:

Ordered several weeks ago. Took forever to come from overseas but price was decent.
Not sure if it will stay mounted there or get moved. I have an idea for a shield to help eliminate glare on the inside.

I will rework my sun visor mount.

Night shot, just the light bar..needs to be re-aimed

Definitely need some form of shield to block the inside glare-

it may get moved down to the top of the bumper and high lift get evicted to the rear bumper during trail runs..

I will need to do a rework of the core support to get enough room, when I mounted the Trail Gear winch tray about 6 years ago I didn't know that they needed to be spaced out about 1/2" when mounting them on 79-83 Toyota trucks. It will also give me the opportunity to beef up the cross member to give it a little more strength when winching.

I started with 7oz. but I think I'm going to add another ounce to them. Dynabead called for 6-8oz, so I figuAt 75mph i'm getting a bit more vibes like a tire is slightly red I'd start in the middle out. I'm actually amazed at how well this method works. In hindsight I should have gone for the max ounces since the MTR has some good size solid lugs.

let us know about the road test. So far with the MTRs my only complaint has been the flat spots from sitting a few days. Feels like a wheel is loose when I pull out of the driveway, but the feeling goes away in about a block.
