In hindsight I should have gone for the max ounces since the MTR has some good size solid lugs.

let us know about the road test. So far with the MTRs my only complaint has been the flat spots from sitting a few days. Feels like a wheel is loose when I pull out of the driveway, but the feeling goes away in about a block.
will let you know tomorrow how the road test goes..

I totally agree with you..These things get a flat spot after just a few days. They act almost like a bias ply.

You have emissions on a 81', that is just wrong. Do you have historic or classic titles for things over 20yrs so they are exempt? I thought only Commifornia did that?

Glad to hear the beads helped, you still running weights also?

I truly feel bad for people who live is States with such strict emissions on older vehicles. Quite frankly, with all the liberal and environmental nut jobs in Maryland I'm surprised that hasn't changed.

it use to be anything 25 years or older but they switched it to 75 and newer needing to pass smog. There are options for special/limited use registrations but don't want to be limited to how manny miles and when I can drive it.

still running weights for now, I will pull the wheel weights when I have some more time..I only had a half an hour on Monday to work on the truck..

It is a pain..sometime I will do a 2 or 3rz...hoping the guy won't realize the exhaust is on the wrong side and ask where the OBD2 plug is

I like my door lights on the sr5. It lights the ground up pretty good.
Added another ounce to my tires, 8oz now, and now I'm getting vibes at 75mph. The balancing seemed better at 7oz. Btw I'm running aluminum 16" rims. Might go to 9oz, if that doesn't work I'm go back to 7. Not to easy to remove the beads.

I think I may have to add some more to the rear tires, they had so much lead on the rims they could keep a muzzle loader going for years..
like you I don't want to have to remove some beads. .

I have accumulated way too many lights over the years. Threw some on the front. Not sure if I like them or not. Upper set are 45w long throws, bottom set of 27w floods. With the additional 32" light bar they should light up the night..

Down sized the tow rig today. Needed something that would be both easier on the wallet and to get around in. I hate to see the Big Red One go away but this one can still tow when I need it to and not take up an entire side of the driveway..

Oh believe me Dave...we looked at them. I like the 1st Gen tundras better than the newer model but the tow capacity wasn't where I felt I needed. And this Dodge was a very good deal.

I like the older bodystyle too - I have a 2005 double cab V8 for my work horse. Look at those tow ratings as just guidelines... I've towed a 14,000 parasail boat about 130 miles back from NJ with no problem, I regularly haul materials that put the frame on it's axle and I'm constantly pushing the limits in my Tundra. I've never had a problem with my drivetrain after 140,000 miles. I'm looking to trade it in for 2015 Tacoma if the new bodystyle and engine are good, but I'm still not sure if I want to get rid of the beefiness for a smaller truck.

Nice dodge. I had a 05 1500 single cab hemi 4x4. Was a beast at hauling. I miss it but the payment was nuts but I bought it at 21 and single and no bills. The newer tundras don't look as good as the 1st gens did.

Dude, I just freaking love this thing! And by the way, I think you made a good decision taking it down a notch on the Dodge! Is it pulls all you need it's always more convenient to have something just a little bit smaller. Not much, but at least in width right?

I love the lights , ......everywhere! HAHAHA. Obviously right? Lol. Actually, most of my lights kinda just blend in. I will be putting my soft top on soon and was curious what you thought about The rack. I've seen people mount them on soft tops before but I don't know. Lol. I'm just not having warm fuzzy thoughts about having to put holes in this damn thing already. Hahaha.

Take care man, and as always, it's great to see you're doing well!

i am not sure if i would tow 11K with an older tundra. I was pulling 12K every 2 weeks with the Mega Cab but didn't need to do that any more.
The trekker on the flat bed trailer weighs about 4500-5K, my camp trailer is about 5K loaded so this one should do the job.

I think i will install some airbags in it though..
