you'll need the correct watt resistor to do it right. although there is another way. instal a "variable load" flasher, sometimes called an "electronic flasher". it's meant for towing, where the load changes everytime you hook up the trailer. one flasher unit, or 4 high-power resistors

Fast flashing is typically representative of the system telling you a bulb is out, IE no resistance. Although I'm new to 1st gens, that's just typically how it works.
yep, totally understand the root cause..
borrowed this from Dirtco's thread but I have 4 of these to install if the flasher doesn't do the trick:

fixing the flasher is just one of many things this POS needs including:
-passing emissions
-install Weber Carb
-convert IFS rear to discs, install new rear shock mounts and install rear axle
-re-install dual cases
-add SKy's Ebrake to TC
-make new seat brackets and install prelude seats
-recover rear samurai seat and install
-make new bed rails with integrated nuts to allow top be removeable
-install bed tie down kit for cargo
-install GM CS130 one wire alternator/mount
-make half doors

this is just the list I can think off of the top of my head, some of these parts have been sitting in the garage for 2+ years
other priorities and lack of motivation at times suck...

Sorry to hear that. I scratched my cornea last year. I was wearing the wrap around glasses, they seal pretty good but not like goggles. Now I wear a face shield. Take care, good thing is the eye heals pretty quick, but man it is a distracting feeling.

Not too serious, 24 hours with the patch and ointment 3x's a day for a few days. I flushed it out right away. It is stratched in a few places.

Good thing is it was the last bracket so I should be able to finish painting them tonight and get the seats in the truck in the morning

And my daughter is taking me to pick up a faceshield...

I scratched my left eye, and I'm right eye dominant. But I didn't have to wear a patch, did have to use the ointment and drops. You soon realize how dominant one eye over the other when you can only use one and depth perception is a new game.

Take care

Talking Prelude Seat Install

Got some time to finish up my seat install. These things are very comfortable.
I used 3/8" 1.25x1.25" angle and just bent the front mounts to a 90* and was able to use existing holes:

Full plate across the bottom:

For the outside corner I tied it into the seat belt lower mount:

Instead of ordering the diff stud kit from T-G I was able to get the stuff at Ace Hardware for $8.70.. Took about 20 minutes to install.
Double nutting it proved to be the easiest/fastest way:

Don't have any pics. TrekkerPaul has met him before if it is the same one I am thinking of.

Those seats look sweet! I like to aggressive bolstering. If I had to fault my Accord seats for anything it's the lack of bolstering. But then again the Accord isn't a "performance" car so I can't complain. They are comfy however and I LOVE my armrest.

Nice job scoring the hardware at ACE!

How's the eye?

eye is still a little sore. The patch was a 24 hour deal, now it is just ointment for the next few days.

The bolsters are what I really like about these seats. My old Montero seats had an armrest but it kept nailing my side out wheeling.

Edit-dang it, just noticed I forgot to take off the Honda seat belt clip..

Thanks, they show up every now and than...if you find one just be sure to inspect it closely. Winnebago did not do a great job designing the seal between the cab and bed..a lot of trekkers end up with ton of rust on the floor and the back of the cab.. My floor was toast, fortunately the back walll of the cab seems to be ok.

thanks...
stud kit: 8 out of 10 studs pulled out when I pulled the third from my IFS housing. instead of trying to lock tite it and have the possibility of them coming loose down the road I went this route..I have heard that with time they can work loose and end up leaking..

the plug in doesn't fit so I just cut the wires and put on some blade connectors, pop the mounting bracket out of the stock flasher and put this sucker up in the stock location up on passenger side kick panel. Not bad for $9.95

how does the diff stud eliminator kit work? seems liek it would be harder to remove the nuts if its just a bolt there

That sucks about your eye...glad it wasn't worse. I'm always wearing goggles when I work on my trucks. Part of that has to do with a radiator hose on my '80 rupturing and blasting me in the face with scalding antifreeze. Luckily with my ninja-like reflexes I was able to close my eyes in time. And, I'd hate to waste all that money I spent on a photorefractive keratectomy (painful but safer alternative to Lasik...I highly recommend it).

Oh and, your Trekker is FRIGGIN AWESOME!

Had some time to work on my IFS axle to prep for rear disks.
I thought maybe the rear bearings had been replaced recently but now.
One bearing was not even seated all the way down into the bearing cup:

Compared to a fully seated bearing (confirmed on 3 other axles)

My question is just how much play should there be in the rear bearings?
3 axles that appear fully seated in the bearing cup have some side to side play:

The bearing that is not seated has no play., but it will barely spin. The other 3 axles spin freely.
Am on my phone and found these two threads, one the guy replaced the bearings and still had some play. Like everyone-money is tight and I would rather not spend unnecessary cash..
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-today-230976/
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-video-237698/

Looking at the reAr axle chapter thread in the FSM it doeSn't discuss play....

My next door neighbor looked at them, he thought they would be ok, just have the one bearing pressed down.. Dunno

Here is the truck he is working on-FJ40 stretch 20" with an LS1:
