The 4 big LED for the running light is cool, but I dont think you can run clear lenses in Oregon. The clear looks cooler and its more distictive when it comes to braking. Clear if you can

Thanks Jeff-
Paul good point about the clear lenses, these are DOT approved, but I will check the ODOT website later on.

Maybe the red ones for the standard turn/stop/tail and than use the clear lenses mount down by the bumper or some where as aux brake lights

I like the clear ones. If people can put Euro lights on anything, why wouldnt you be able to use them? same concept right? Nice build by the way.

To the guy that offered to buy it for $1500 today if you are on YT sorry if I was a little pissed at your offer
Was a litte beat from pushing this beast around by myself, if my wife was home she probably would have said sure

This seems to have become an annual fall even for me'.

He obviosly was retarded and only had 1500.00 he could borrow from the sister he is married to since he was 15. Just kidding....well maybe. He might as well offered you 5.00 for it. Maybe then you could have had a good laugh with the guy about it.

If you see him again, tell him your friend(me) has a 1500.00 truck for sale. It's made out of cardboard, I'll paint it any color he wants and he will get to make the engine noise any way he likes. "VVVRRROOOOOMMMM VVVRROOOOMMM.....I am special...I have a race truck."

Hey Rob can you take some more pictures of your diamond plate doors? I just can't decided if I want to make them or not yet.

Sorry Rich, hadn't checked my own thread for quite awhile, I will see if I can get a few more pics later today.

Appreciate it

Anyway--
Thing has been sitting for way too long, and I am still not totally sure if I have a transfer case or transmission issue.
I am gonna go back to a single case set up for a couple of reasons:
A) get the thing driveable sooner
B) Paul-Aka trekkerpaul made me a killer deal on an l52 with t/c and driveshAfts that I couldn't refuse. It came out of an 83 that was running but body/frame was beyond saving.

I will be able to use this assembly to have a little fun this summer and putt around in something thAt gets a lot better mileage than my Tahoe:

Also picked up a complete head, intake and carb for a spare and workbench schooling myself:

You are welcome Robb the parts were actually out of an 82 4x4, but they would be the same. Let me know what the part # on the carb tag is please. I may have to buy that back as an extra for my 83. I have a couple stock 81 carbs if you need a back up too.

Cant wait to see it on the road again. We will have to get you, me and John together for some pictures. That is after you are rolling, I put mine back together, and John replaces his cab. We dont want to have a scrap yard picture.

haven't driven it with these door panels yet in the summer. I can't imagine it would be that bad since they are not exposed directly to the sun.
I did it in one of my old VW bugs a long time ago and don't recall it being bad at all.

Thanks for clearing it up...you have parted a few trucks hard to keep up
If you want to swap carbs sometime, cool. I just wanted one that was basically complete for some practice and a spare.

Seeing three local Trekkers together would be pretty cool

If you hear of anyone locally that would like to buy that extra Trekker backhalf I would be open to letting it go...If I still have it in the spring I think I will practice some fiberglass work on the top, maybe make a summer top since it is in kinda crappy shape

This thing doesn't look like much but it is something I have been lOoking for 3.5 years.
It is a Suzuki Samurai fold and tumble back seat. Supposedly these things are hard to find. Dirty, ugly, torn up and a little rusty, but it is complete and the mechanism works great. It fits in the rear seat tray just about perfectly, only sticks up a little bit above the floor of the bed.
It will get cleaned up, the upper frame will be tweaked slightly for a set of headrest mounts. My mom has a sewing machine I will be able to use to make a new seat cover.
