PowerstrokeJoe's om617 Turbo Diesel swap/build in 1990 P/up

Thanks Aviator!
Here Is where I am at as of now. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

I have plans to tie the two sides of the core support together yet so not to stress the radiator. I went and pulled the Surge tank out of the parts car and I think I have a sopt that will work what do you all think?

Oh and several people have asked me about my EGT thermocouple so I figured I'd post a picture of its location.
I took my driveshaft to school and the general consensus was to have another one built. They said that it could be split but it probably wouldn't work too well. I think I am going to call a few shops and see what it would cost to have one built. Tom Woods seems to be pretty highly recommended as well as High Angle Driveline. I'll have to see how that plays out.

89lc- Yeah it will be but if I break them I have a feeling the radiator will be the least of my worries lol.
irab88- The top hose runs out right behind the thermostat on the top so it will just be 2 90's like Transplanter said. The bottom one will be interesting.
I broke down and ordered a Tom Woods driveshaft tonight. It is supposed to be here Monday. It was almost $400 so I hope its worth it.

Lol, and $900 just to shorten your existing one?? That's asinine!!!
You should be able to use stock mercedes coolant hoses and just trim them down a bit perhaps. $30 to your door from peach IIRC
And here's what I'm doing to my motor mounts:

Chaining the mounts looks like a good idea Joe... but use some of that nice corrosion resistant Titanium Nitride coated chain... if you're gonna add chain you might as well max out the bling factor and use the good [gold] stuff...

Aviator- I had thought about chaining them too and I still may I have a bunch of that gold chain laying around that got broke and hasn't got fixed yet.
Joe- The $900 was to have a new one like it made by some mystery shop in CA. At least with Tom Woods I know what I'm getting!

My driveshaft came today! I have to give props to Tom Woods he really does some good work. I am going to have to cut the carrier bearing mounts out but thats no biggie It bolted right up.

I also got most of the mount for the surge tank done so I just need to plumb it in and finish up the rad hosing as well as the exhaust where I cut it.
I'll be sure to get more pictures as these are really crappy but school is killing me right now.

Figured I'd post an update as things have been really crazy with school and the farm both picking up. I did get a chance to get everything plumbed back in and I ran it for about an hour. The temp never got over 170. All that is left is to mount the oil cooler and re do my exhaust. Heaven knows when I'll get that done at this rate.

farm picking up? I thought this time of year was for putting things down [planting seeds]... I thought fall was "picking up" [harvesting] time around the farm...
... of course with livestock everyday involves a little "picking up"
I kill me...

HEy joe you wouldn't happen to have a complete list of what you took out of your parts benz? I have the engine pulled and I want to scrap the car for some cash but I don't want to though anything away I need. thanks

Ok here are the parts I came up with that I used on my truck.
Radiator
Surge tank and hoses
Fan
Motor mounts (for a drilling guide)
I didn't use the down pipe but it might be handy
The breather hose off the valve cover
Save the nuts and bolts and everything you take out.
I think that's it I'll probably come up with more as I remember it.
