Joe- The hot wire from the battery is 10ga and is almost identical to the power wire in the car. The brown wire just runs the low amp signal power from the switch. My solenoid is just hooked to the VSV via a vacuum line. The shutoff solenoid is under the tranny control valve you see. The fuel lines are all stock. I had to replace the fuel pump bracket as mine had rusted and the lines broke when I took the pump out. I am betting you have no electric fuel pump because you are carbed. Personally it sounds like a PITA to move the lines, but that's just me.

The weather around here is really crappy today and I'm still waiting on parts so I decided to try something different on my spare valve cover. I wasn't at all happy with how my other paint job came out. I wanted something that stands out a little more, so I ordered some wrinkle finish red paint and went to town. It took me all afternoon to do but I am totally happy with it. Here are the pictures from start to finish.

Not the style I'd have gone for but she looks good Joe... Hit her with a coat of high temp clear to keep the star shiny and seal the edges or you might get some flaking around there over time.
And I'm sure your Mom/Grammy loved having you stick the part in their oven and stinking up the kitchen while you baked the paint... hope you cleaned the oven after...
if you did'nt you know who to blame when the next batch of pies or roast has a unique "flavour"...

B-Yodaful- Thank You! I don't think anything else is going to be red for now. I do have some of my wiring in a red loom. I just wanted somehting to break up all of the black.

Thanks Aviator! Grandma is pretty much used to stuff like that going on in the house. She walked in the kitchen looked in the oven, looked at me and said well when it's done I want a piece lol and went back to her office lol. I'm pretty lucky to call it home here!

Joe- It actually didn't smell that bad at all. I let my manifolds air dry and heat gunned em. probably should have baked them but oh well you can't hardly see them anyhow.

Space Cadet- Really its a pretty fun and unique swap! If you do decide to do it be sure to post it up and ask any questions, those of us that have done the swap will be gald to help! Thanks!

Thanks rattlewagon!

I put the v/c on this weekend and painted up the bracketry. I am really happy with how it looks. I ordered my new radiator tonight and my alternator should be done some time this week. I'm going to have to make an appt. at the exhaust shop soon. Anyhow here is a picture of the v/c installed.

I finally got around to getting the radiator in tonight and everything seems to work ok on it. It wants to warm up at idle like around 190 but as soon as the rpm's pick up it cools right down. I think I am going to replace my water pump and and go with an electric one too. It ran for probably an hour in the shop and the warmest it ever got was 185ish. Any how here are the pictures.

I figured I'd also post some pictures of my exhaust. Some of you that do a lot of wheeling might need to do something different but I am happy with it for my DD.

So aside from some little buttoning up and issues that will arise as I put the miles on the truck it is done. Thank you all for your support and help along the way. I will be sure to keep you all updated on how it does!

like you said the exhaust rides a little low for off road work... not sure I'm a fan of that over/under around the frame style [unless you posted the pics upside down that is]...
also a little doubtful about the reliability of the fans when they are secured thru the rad core... worried about vibrating a hole in the rad...

temps sound good though...

awaiting the first drive report...

Well I got it out on the road for a while and all seems good except the cooling. As long as I stay moving for the most part it is ok but as soon as I come to a stop the temps go right up. I believe this is due to the water pump not circulating at idle. One side of the rad is really warm and the other is actually cold. Give it some rpm and the radiator warms up and temps go down. As far as the fans on it they are going. I had plans to run taurs fans with a shroud all along and these were on there just to see for now, they came with the radiator. (not really a fan (haha) of the core mount) They move about as much air as an asmatic blowing through a straw. The other issue I see is I believe my waste gate spring has gotten weak as it only makes about 8lbs of boost under full load. So on that note... its not really a power house. I think I am going to have to make some tweaks 60 seems to be about all it really wants to run in 5th, I think my gearing may be off though.

Aviator- the exhaust runs over the frame. The reason I did that was due to my body lift. With the pipe exiting below the frame it was almost 6 inches between the tip and the body. It looked kind of goofy to me, so that's why its over the frame. Also, it hung down so low there was a danger of tearing it off. The pipe nest to the transfer case is higher than the skid plate so I figured it was safe for what I was going to do.

So that being said. If anyone following this has any rear rad expierence please chime in. I know its not the ideal situation, but I really would prefer to make it work instead of having to go the whole move everything back route. I will as a last resort, but the way it acted I feel that it is possible to make this work. Thanks in advance for the help guys1

Yeah I see that would have looked goofy... I forgot about your body lift

Little by little I have been getting thru your thread. You got things looking good. Hopefully you get the radiator thing worked out.
