removing old AC system
How did you guys handled the old AC system? Did you undo the compressor from the engine and re-attach it to the 3.4 or let the gas out and remove the AC lines?

Well, to keep the greenies off my back, I was going seperate the 3.0 compressor from the engine and use it with the 3.4.
Has anyone here done that?
Do I need to use the bracket from the 3.0? or use the one on 3.4?

I ended up using the compressor from the 3.4 and the lines and plate from the 3.0. The reason why I didn't use the 3.0 is because of the pulley. If you can change out the pulley (requires pulling off the clutch), then you can use the 3.0 compressor.

pull the 3.0 compressor and use it on the 3.4, you need to use the 3.4 mount. Pulling the pulley off was easy. Just have to follow the fsm. it comes right up. You use a longer bolt per fsm and screw it in. I used an impact slowly. it pulls right up. This way you keep your refrigerent. If you have r12 you really don't want to lose it

NO, 3.0 compressor and 3.4 compressor are the same. the plates for the hoses are different, and the pulley's are different. That is all. Pull the pulley off the 3.4 compressor, and use it on the 3.0. Keep the system intact. Cheaper that way.
