In my case, "as tight as I could get 'em". It looks like 76ft/pd for the regular lug nuts, which these essentially are. The manual seems to call them "hub nuts".

Great to see this rolling again.
On those studs, I pressed mine in with a 5 ton vice, my hi lift handle over the vice handle, and all my strength possible. Plus I think I damaged my vice.

Edit: Nice hat. Looks like you belong down here.

Wheel spacers:

Apply RED loctite and torque to 100 ft lbs and forget about it.

No need to retorque cause if you do them you will just breakt the loctite loose.

I was hoping you would take a picture of the two wheel studs side by side.

sorry about that Wabbit. In all the fuss today building and chopping I forgot to take pictures of that. I hoped the two pics above would suffice. What a total PITA. 3 of the new old studs were cross threaded on right on the top thread so I cut the off about 1 mm, put the lug not on and red locktighted it and I am calling it good.
I am over it.
On to the next crisis.

Algranger!!! I was wondering were you were!
Yes the sawzall sucked! I went through 6 bi metal blades just on the lowers. Tomorrow I am tearing out the uppers.
You wouldnt happen to know what will happen if I dont back the tension off the torsion bars and just cut them???
I assume the UCA's will just slam upwards. I cant get a wrench in there on that bolt on the engine side to set the damn torsion bar free.
I just want to cut it, then cut the UCA brackets off and throw the whole thing over the hill into the ocean

Are you having trouble with the adjusting nuts/bolts? You can just loosen those all the way and the whole hanger/bolt/nut/t bar shebang will fall into their respective pieces. Then the t bar just pulls out of the UCA. No need to get that anchor point off the UCA.

Clear as mud?

yes! The 22mm toward the rear. I took the entire bolt out. The driver side I have to wrench so hard to get it to turn. I am not sure what is going on. I just want to cut the whole mess out.
If you have an pics of you yours I would appreciate it. I think the PO might have over torqued the drivers side torsion bar and done something funky.
Thanks BLKNBLU

ahhahah yes it is a nice view but I would trade it for a view of a Miller 220, Plasma cutter, lift, shop, air, etc, etc....
I am using a Rebel XT. My little Olympus digital died a few months back. I had that thing for 8 years and it finally died. I haven't got a new compact as of yet.

I don't think I have any real pics of that stuff in the truck. Here are what all the parts look like out of the truck.

To clarify, you have the bolt out but it still won't budge? Do you have the other side out? I recall the first time I took mine apart I had a heck of a time getting it (the adjusting bolt) to break free, but once it did, all the other stuff came apart fine. (the beauty of desert living) If you have the adjusting bolt out, you probably just have to whack that hanger thing free from rust or gunk or both.

I thought I saw some SLR shaprness there.

That is the one I want. I find no matter what camera I use the pics just cant compete with DSLR. I wish I could afford one.

YES!!
that helps. I am having trouble with both sides. They are pretty rusted and stuck. I didnt want to beat the holy hell of of them. I guess thats what I need to do.
I think I will use a cutting wheel to cut both torsion bars and then yank them out.
Thanks BLKNBLU!!

I'd still beat on them a bit. If you decide to cut them, be careful. I don't know what might happen, but it's making me a little nervous.

first time I checked out your build thread...very cool detail, I may borrow some of your pics for my misc mods thread..
After seeing the tan color of your truck and seeing others, it is kind of growing on me.
You are gonna love the SA when you are done.

know it has been awhile on the rapelling pics but I was stationed at Ft. Richardson for 4 years, I loved it up in Alaska. Spent a lot of time in Wainwright, even had a girlfriend at UAF...Best thing was a night jump in to Husky dropzone (fairbanks) in the middle of winter with a fully moon
Rapelling out of Helocopters was lot of fine too...until they lift up and you are out of rope and got 20 feet to the ground
