full width?

ok yall i have been looking and looking i have found a lot of people putting dana 60s on their toyota. i have an 89 pickup sas'd. i am wanting to put dana 60s front and back. i am just not sure that if full width is the way to go. i dont want to have to cut the axles down. i live in GA and there aint a whole lot of rocks where im at but i do bog and trail ride and climb whatever there is to climb. question is how much bigger are 60s than '84 front axle, and will the d60s still allow trail riding?

Not sure the size dif between those two axles.

But i love my full width set up, although i am running a D44 and a 9". the 60's from what i understand are a little bit wider than what i am running.

My front axle is know around 7" (IIRC) wider than my truck was stock.

It is tight when going through some tree filled trails, but i usally manage to get around most stuff so far.

Not sure about GA, but if mud flaps are needed, it would make it a little more interesting.

Good luck man!

I love the hp44 up front, kinda wish i would have fronted for a 60, but maybe down the road. I built my 44 to the hilt, the only issue i have had is blowing up the hubs. My chromo shafts and super joints havent been an issue at all. I love the 9" outback, it will stay with the truck forever now, its also fully built with the exception of disk brakes, they will come later.

I got my 44 out of a 79 bronco, I dont think you will want that though, as it had cast in wedges for the radius arms. I used a radius arm set up so i didnt mind. Although, i would rather have gotten one with welded on wedges, they are stronger. I think an 78 bronco/f-150 is what you are looking for.

I am running my stock case along with an Inchworm 4.7 crawler. They make a flang that adapts a d44 to a yota Drive line, but chances are you will need a new drive shaft. I just had mine built with yota on one end and d44/9" on the others.

Good luck man!!
