Adn I have heard that Bull is much easier now since they have worked on it this summer. That would be a great run for most of you.....Gold then Bull, Dinner, then Bull again if you want. Holcomb is a good 15-20 minutes on 3n16 from camp. Any other questions, ask me!................Darrin Walker
Darrin,

Do you think you can post the list of trails you guys will be doing on Saturday? We've done the Gold Mountain -> John Bull combo a few times now so we're looking at doing something different. At the sametime I do want to take the members that want to do the more difficult trails out to the challenging one but at the sametime make sure that I cover the medium trails too so nobody gets left out after the Gold Mountain run. So if you can give me some ideas on what trails you'll be offering throughout the day that'll be perfect.

Example:
afternoon run for Saturday
Hard: John Bull or Dishpan or Holcomb Valley
Medium: White Mountain

Hopefully that'll help. As for the night run, I'm gonna play that by ear that night.

Can I get a headcount on the Yotatech crew? I'd like to know who's going to joining us for the Saturday event. Also can you give me an indication on how difficult of a second trail you'll like to do. That'll give me some ideas on the possible variation of trails we can do after Gold Mountain.

Thanks!

Nah, I'm playing it by ear. Everytime I try to plan something it never ends up that way. Plus, I've never wheeled up there so I don't knwo the area. I figure I'll meet up with the group, then if there is room, I'll camp there, otherwise, I'll find room for me and my buddies and set camp. Your welcome ot hang with us again. I'd liek to stick with the SD guys, of course.

I thought we were going to have access to a cabin, but that went down the :pat:

I will be coming with 2 friends and our respective woman friends. So, that will be 6.

I think we'd like our second trail to be medium as well. Gold and white mountain sound good to me. But, if everybody wants something harder after, I have no problem breaking off and doing our own thing.

Like Seth, I'm going to play it by ear. Reservations are NOT needed for the area that we are looking to be camping at, correct?

I still need to hear back from a couple friends as to whether they're going, but I'm going regardless.

NO reservations needed.

Lance

It'll be me and my son. Gold the White Mountain sound like a good combo but I'm good with anything.

So I offically won't be making it on this (visiting my mom instead). Interestingly enough...by visiting my mom I'll probably be in Big Bear on Saturday! Maybe I can run into someone during the day (between runs) or in the evening. I'm just playing it by ear. I probably won't be able to hit any runs, though :'-( I don't really know how I'd contact anybody anyway. I'd love to just meet some of ya'll, but we'll see what happens. Have fun on the trails everybody!

I'm seriously thinking of driving up early Sat and doing a med morning run, then driving back to San Diego to catch my tuna trip. If I go on a morning run, about how long do you guys think it will take?

I think Lance said we were shooting for a 8:30 meeting/departure time. So we could easily be done before noon with the first run. Too bad you can't get some fresh tuna first and then come camping w/us. That would be excellent on the grill!

The runs for saturday are as follows:

med group 1- Gold then White
med group 2- White then Gold

hard group 1- Bull then Holcomb
hard group 2- Holcomb then Bull
hard group 3 - Holcomb then Deep Creek

So if you want to stick as 2 med runs, you can leave earlier like you proposed and you would miss those groups, or leave after and do the same. Drivers meeting is at 9ish so I don't expect anyone to leave till 930 or after.

I am into Gold Mtn, but the long road to White Mtn gets to me...it is very dusty and must be at least 15 miles.

I would like to try John Bull this trip.

It's all good, I have a custom matress in the back of my rig. But your tent looks damn close to the cabin we had in mind. You can practically run laps in that setup of yours. Sweet!

I got your PM but will post here. If you would like to join us for the Gold Mountain run, you should be able to run it by taking all of the bypasses. I'm not certain but from my recollection of the trail, a stock 4x4 was more than sufficient to get across many of the sections. Hopefully others will chime in or Darrin can shed some light as I know they just did a prerun so they'll have a more accurate trail condition as my recollection is from last year.

Cya there!

I'll be there with one passenger. I would like to do one of the more difficult trails second.

So stupid me got the weekends messed up and now I really won't be there at all (I'll be in the area this weekend). I would come, but I start school the Monday after and I like to use the weekend before to get ready.
